Re: Premier League 2023/24
Not much to add since the last post, we are doing the same shite of not putting teams to bed. Just keep pace with the leaders until AFCON is over and maybe we could surprise a few people with everyone back fit.
Jota killed the game instantly this week as he came back. Hopefully Mac, Robbo and Thiago perform at the same level once they are back. Hope we see our strongest 11 for atleast a couple of games this season.

Jota was more missed than I could ever comprehend as I come to appreciate him when he isn't there as compared to when he is. Robbo is outright my favourite LFC player and by a distance so I am ecstatic on his return

Arsenal are a team of losers, they're just a Spurs with a couple good seasons under their belt a lifetime ago. That's all that differentiates them. Gonna need City to go on a helluva run to stop Pool from winning the league, ffs. Kinda torn though, don't want City again but I don't know any City fans lmao.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Arsenal are indeed a loser team. It having a better mentality than Wenger's coddled boys means little unless they actually win something relevant. Only big game players are Odegaard, Rice and their backline. Saka and co. are mental midgets when pressure hits them.
This is how they work, each time they really need to catch up to the contender they manage to do so but the moment that contender is losing points and seems out of the picture they drop points like lemmings off a cliff. Like someone who pays the bills just to keep the light, water, & gas running nothing more.
City had their usual drop off due to form, age and injuries but now they look good again.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
calling us a "loser team" is piling on though, just how Mourinho used to call Wenger a "specialist in failure"...
these labels are only thrown around by rival/hating fans because we have a tendency of getting close but not reaching the peak of the mountain except for in the FA Cup. But the fact that we're close enough a lot of the time says there are good qualities within our club.
a perennial PL loser team is Spurs or Everton
and coaches like ten Hag and Pochettino are specialists in failure

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Mourinho called any perennial second place coach or club a loser team. Spurs dont spend anywhere near as much as Arsenal and using them as examples aren't it given their global disparity compared to Arsenal. It's just a fallacious comparison.
Being close enough means very little as with Arsenal is a similar case to Roma whom will get close but choke when the moment comes to close the gap let alone a big team. Almost every single time without failure.
I support Arteta believe me because he changed the locker room the moment Wenger shipped him in and has created a literal culture in Arsenal, marshalled his players well and Emirates finally isn't a shit atmosphere. I dont blame him but this is more to the players who just wilt when it comes to pressure moments, and it's a big enough sample size.
I agree on Poch and ten Hag.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
lots of clubs spend big tho but never even get close to achieving their goals, eg: Man Utd since SAF left, Galacticos era, PSG.
We just have a "getting over the final hurdle" problem, and it's a mental block in the club culture, dare i even say a voodoo spell since we moved to the Emirates. It was supposed to end in 2016 when we beat Leicester at home in February, but didn't... It was supposed to end last season but we were up against a freight train of a team so we had no margin for error.
We will keep on fighting though.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
What "loser team" means is, you get close but fail when the pressure is at its peak (or when it matters most,
Winning mentality means thriving under pressure when you have to kill of your rivals, it's easier to be in 2nd, 3rd place and chase but if you are in 1st place and have to defend it, it's quite different
I'm sure that's what Firenze means
Man City under pep have that mentality, when they go first they are very unlikely to give that away

Re: Premier League 2023/24
That's exactly my point. LFC at least got the Premier League let alone UCL recently. Last time Arsenal won something relevant Henry was still within the team. Fucking Leicester City won it even and with the coach Josè called "a born loser".
Arsenal are bound to statistically win it eventually until then their "oh so close we tried" doesn't mean anything, the results do.

El Gunner wrote:that's absolute lies lol... the clutchness, sharpness and defensive solidity would outlast most of Wenger's teams...
before the capitulation late last season, last season's team had a better record than all Wenger teams, including the Invincibles after 25 and probably even 30 games.
Winning and mental edge >>> beautiful football
this is what prime Real Madrid and Fergie's United taught me
Clutchness, sharpness and defensive solidity, then winning and mental edge, that is how you described this team of losers bro, you can pretend now but the evidence is there. You also said this is the second best Arsenal side of all time, then you got wrecked by West Ham, fam.
Prime Real Madrid and Fergie's United taught you wrong.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
I actually think Arsenal fans within the stadium have a huge role to play, walking out on the 85th consistently. The anxiety and nervousness of their fans, especially how they flip on opinions/ glorify and then shoot down bottom, just boils down to the players. They have a great team which is why they can come back and score, but it just seems hurried everytime they play.
It seems like the players and Arteta have bought into this crap, the way they celebrate some stuff is crazy. Arteta needs to mature similar to how Klopp did after the first PL challenge, it trickles down into the team. Even Klopp in his first season was running around breaking his glasses.

I saw the post of fans leaving on twatter, 100% the players will see it as well and that will only reinforce the do or die in fckin January. It's supposed to be a long season battle not a sprint. Opinions cannot flip and panic cannot set in this early, Arsenal are neither helped by the media purely because they know the click baity will attract Arsenal fans. AFTV has probably been the worst thing that can happen to Arsenal, look at every other club's fan channel. They are so level headed. United's fan channel got into Rashford's head this year (1 exception).
The maturity will 100% come. Arteta has to start it in my opinion. It starts with the coach, then the players and then boils down to the fans.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
D o n k e y league still a bunch of donkeys muling about.
Arsenal being competitive? Top kek! I'm sure arsenal will compete for the donkey cup as is. They don't got what takes to win the donkey premier league. They should worry more about the mighty spurs (joke team btw) finishing ahead of them on the table than worry about the league title.
I'd say liverpool should have the league title but the last couple of years have been disappointing. Beating guardiola is of no real accomplishment but that clown has had such a stranglehold of the mule league that perhaps i am overestimating liverpool's prowess. The rest of the donkeys i wont even the time of day.

This is very true. They way they play is indeed rushed and without composure which is an indication of their own confidence and hope for chances to open for them by trial and error rather than an actual process. Dont get me started when they are a goal down or need a goal above a possible draw then it's just plain bad football.
Agreed on AFTV too. Lifeless losers running the entire thing who just look worn down by life since they have nothing else going for it. I dont know why club ultras think they are as important as they think they are
