Re: Premier League 2023/24
Liverpool legit going into the season without a functioning DM and playing Robertson as a CB lol.
It has been one the weakest so called rebuilds I've ever seen. FSG is allergic to spending money. 3rd time in 4 years Liverpool are going into a season with a clearly lacking squad. 20/21 (CB situation that practically wrote off the season) and 22/23 (midfield situation that wrote off the season).
Our midfield rebuild legit consisted of losing 6 players and only bringing in 2. It's shameful negligence on FSG's part. The club is extremely poorly run ever since Michael Edwards/Klopp fell out over Henderson's contract extension. Granting Klopp Wenger level power over the front office has been a mistake. Dude hired his German drinking buddy Schmadke and all he's accomplished was paying two release clauses to bring in the 2 players we have.
On the bright side, Liverpool have an incredible attacking forward line. The depth with Salah, Diaz, Nunez, Gakpo, Jota is fantastic. Alisson is the best keeper in the world by far. Trent is an absolutely incredible playmaker. And Konate-Van Dijk is still among the best partnerships at the back.
CB depth, Robertson, and DM situation is going to bite us in the ass, I can already foresee. The new Klopp system is poorly constructed with current personnel. Curtis Jones will play DM against Chelsea probably lol. That will be a nightmare situation. And Robertson at LCB, I can't keep stressing how awfully out of his depth he is in that role.

Arsenal need to make their domination count. Once City get into the game it's going to be tough for them.

Havertz vs Nketiah
Havertz pros: more imposing and involved in the game purely coz of his height and positions he takes up
Cons: not a natural finisher
Nketiah pros: more likely to finish half chances
Cons: less likely to get the chances Havertz gets
Which would you pick?

Havertz is pretty much useless, reminds me of Ferran Torres for barca. Gets into positions easily but cant finish, smart movements, tactically astute yet offers little to no final product
I'd choose Nketiah if you cant sign another natural finisher
Arteta probably believed he can unlock Havertz but he might've misfired with this bet, this signing seemed odd to me from the outset

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Whats happened with Jesus? Injured? So will who will be first choice no.9?
De Bruyne changes the game as soon as he came on, n this Palmer looked decent with them finishes Interesting Pep subs off Haaland too, praise for that cos I think many managers would just leave their star striker on no matter what in the hope for a goal.
Partey was getting sold to SA I thought, if SA can afford to pay to sign so many other names, surely they can do the same with Partey? But he seems too important to Arsenal.

reminder this is Havertz's first non-friendly match for Arsenal under Arteta, give it time... he already impressed aside from his poor finishing
it's not always about individual goals, if he can unlock more attacks for us than Eddie then that could lead to us scoring more team goals

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Trossard is a bit like a poor mans Jota. He's a tidy player, low center of gravity, can do a bit of everything in the attacking areas. I like this type of offensive rotation option.
City snagged the best version of this type of player currently with Julian Alvarez, whose got a very high ceiling to reach that prime Tevez like level.
With Jota and Trossard this is pretty much the level they'll stay at.

I think Havertz came to Arsenal to get away from the striker role and then Jesus got injured and he's back where he started

he did yesterday and impressed with his hold up play and involvement, so i won't be surprised if Arteta continues to use him there

Re: Premier League 2023/24
I hope that the Premiership title race goes down to the end of the season again. I reckon Arsenal can challenge Man City for the title again this season, especially now that Arsenal have massively strengthened their squad with players like Havertz and Rice.

FSG in general have been getting worse and worse. The midfield mess they have created this season is purely being dumb/stupid/Brainfart. And we still don't have a DM signed for this season.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
Caicedo is an absolute phenom. He's prime Kante level physical specimen. The best DM profile to accommodate Trent.
We got a complete midfield now, boys.
Still need a LCB, but this is a title challenging squad again. Klopp is cooking.

Re: Premier League 2023/24
delusional fans when you've been consistenyl dropping huge money on signings, you've obviously been trying to sign mids and now drop an absurd amount on caicedo
still wont compete for the title IMO, City have already won
I think Pool will compete for second with us though and I think Arsenal are in for a rude awakening this season, they've strengthened a bit but Havertz aint the one
Chelsea look like a circus still and I don't see them making top 4
