WHICH TWO TEAM WILL PROGRESS ?
Re: Champions League 2022/23 | Group C
I didn't watch the match so I am going to have to take you guys word on this one.
However, only lesser teams tend to be given the credit of "played well but still lose" so not sure if Xavi would like that credited to his side.

Thanks Dan, it seems they are trying to play a no number 9 system. Very interesting.

I haven't watched Bayern this season so I don't know if it is a system issue or he's just on a downhill path. Nevertheless it was really sad to see him possibly be Bayern's worst player on the night.Nishankly wrote:danyjr wrote:He looked 10% of the player he was at Liverpool. Still though, Barca played really well. They don't have to change anything, really. Just actually take their chances. Could've had a draw or maybe even a 2-3 win in this game. Though admittedly Bayern could've had one or two more as well.
Sad to see Lewandowski though, he was such a great striker. Kind of a bummer when an overaged has-been has to move to a broke 2nd tier club to see out his days, and then is forced to watch the glory of his former club, who no longer need him.

But that’s ok for naive Barcalearning as CL doesn’t mean much.
Lol we are in very early stages of the rebuild and were actually better than Bayern, just unlucky not to take the chances we had. I suggest actually watching the game so that you can make an informed comment!

You could say that about almost every opposing team on Real Madrid's road to the CL trophy last season. I support the argument that City, Chelsea and Liverpool all played better than us over 90 minutes, but we were efficient with our chances, which is why we won

Coman is injured, Goretzka is just back from injury.
But why Nagelsmann suddenly insists on fielding Sané again on the right against everyone's better knowledge, including Sané's and his own, remains a mystery, and a pretty maddening one

Thank lords for this. It is already painful to watch Haaland in Shiity shirt and then Mane playing great will put me in depression.

Mane was pretty meh on the LW for Liverpool for months. Didn't his turn of form happen when he was moved to CF?
He played good as a CF in the Bayern games I've seen him. He played LW for the first time for Bayern against Barca.

This is 2022. Also, just 2 years ago Barca lost 8-2 to Bayern. They are a lesser side

Re: Champions League 2022/23 | Group C
I mean Mane recently was the most frustrating of the front 3 of Liverpool, it was Firmino first and we added Jota to counter that. Mane had been inconsistent for major patches every season for the last 3 years, as Cas mentioned and to add to it, he would have lost his position to newly signed Diaz had both Firmino and Jota not be injured during that transition. We did not sell him for the fun of things, it was calculated. Firmino is next in line to leave
But Mane even when being bad, his workrate, athleticism and selfless runs always made sure he was a menace and allowed other players around him to thrive though, but if you see people saying Mane was important than Salah, they are just plain dumb, ignorant and know nothing.
Not to mention there is no one at Liverpool who is a good finisher and clinical, they always need 4 or 5 chances to put 1 in. Mane was worse than Salah and Firmino at missing sitters, something Bayern will need to address.

Honestly I liked our performance here, if we perform like this eventually the result will come. CL is were you gotta be clincial and on this night we simply weren't. Xavi should've stuck with Blade and Fati should've been bought in a lot earlier in the game ahead of Torres tbh.

Problem is Dembele can't connect a cross to save his lifeCruijf wrote:Crosselona is well and truly back
Result flatters Inter IMO, first half was dead even and Barca were better in the 2nd half, but couldn't find a solution to Inter's tight defense.
