WHICH TWO TEAM WILL PROGRESS ?
Re: Champions League 2022/23 | Group C
Problem is Dembele can't connect a cross to save his lifeCruijf wrote:Crosselona is well and truly back
Result flatters Inter IMO, first half was dead even and Barca were better in the 2nd half, but couldn't find a solution to Inter's tight defense.

It was a poor showing from us tonight. It would be horrible to be KO'ed from the group stages two years running with the investment we've made. Pressure will be on Xavi now.

Lol, Barca headed to Europa League again! I expect Xavi knew this was likely to happen when he gave his ‘CL is all about luck’ rant earlier this week.

When your best player is Dimarco it means you' re Europa League level
Anyway he's playing good , I must admit it

To be honest I still think Barca will qualify. Their two remaining games against Bayern and Inter are at home so I would back them to get 4 points, and then as long as they beat Plzen (which is very likely) that should be enough.

That implies luck and according to Xavi reason why winning CL isn’t as big as liga! Â
And now Xavi saying loss is on ref calling it an injustice! Lol, meanwhile Marca is calling result Justice after his rant the other day. IMO, his mouth is going to create more problems for Barca!

Honestly I do think it's a valid point that 38 games evens out luck much more than 4 knockout ties. However the CL is undoubtedly more prestigious and rightfully so, because you have to beat the best of the best to win it. I think winning the CL is more about how high your peak is when it matters most, whereas winning one of the top 3 leagues is about being consistently good (not necessarily great). Both are impressive.

As Carlo said, when you use luck or unlucky, you are using masking your own shortcomings! Winning 5 of last 9 CLs, luck is on the sidelines!

Re: Champions League 2022/23 | Group C
We sucked n with injuries n Xavi clearly got it wrong with playing Raphinha with Marcos on the left was just awful... but WE GOT ROBBED?! Basically we denied a good goal due to Fati so called handled the ball which hardly even changed the ball direction at all AND we got denied a clear pen from the defender ALSO handled the ball which did, with VAR... again showing how useless it is so often n this ref just sucked period... see how he panicked when Lautaro were trying to help him with his gear ffs XD Thats just criminal it prolly meant the difference between staying in CL n dropping to EL which is millions of money lost? Considering our situation this is disastrous... oh well, just the luck we get in the CL as usual I guess Laporta is pretty fked now on the gamble of splashing out for so many big signings if we lose more millions.
To the game though, Inter had the tempo n purpose n again we were second best vs an Italian team which is pretty embarrassing, even after so many yrs. Alonso has got no pace n cant beat players so sacrificing Raphinha to have him on the wing so just bad decision by Xavi. Roberto sucked as usual, n Inter crowed out the middle so all game was just passing to Dembele n hope... we needed De Jong n Alba n a proper RB here... for the goal conceded its clear we are stull vad defending n watching Busquets in slow mo trying to get back n close down shooters are pretty depressing in 2022 still Anyway, same old stuff from us really
At least we will get to play Man U in the EL this time? XD

Don't worry Robes, Inter would be making out of this group to the R16 of the CL.

Flattering score would have been like 3-1 but 1-0 Inter is actually a very accurate score line for the sort of game I watched. Same would have been said if it were the reverse.
Barca did play better but still weren't exactly creating any genuine chances. When Inter got the lead, it was only one way they were gonna play after.

Xavi is the first Barcelona manager to lose his first three Champions League away games in charge of the club. #UCL https://t.co/RejOBZkdje

Re: Champions League 2022/23 | Group C
Reading up the post match comments on various places, n basically most confirmed what I thought, denied pen, n the problems with our team in this game as well as all along - Eric Garcia n Roberto Alonso has shown his weakness in this game so Im sure Xavi wont use him as the attacking wide left player from now on. Gavi also havent found his best position still n often his invisible in some games like this one. Love this video below the part where he mentions Roberto is pushed forward in the second half with space but cant create anything cos hes not elite XD

Re: Champions League 2022/23 | Group C
@Doc it wasn't really. Barca played well enough and were robbed of a stone cold penalty. Inter did as well, a draw would have been a fair result imo. Barca certainly didn't play like trash as some are saying nor is this cause for undue concern

Lukaku will miss also 2nd leg so yes
Our hope is a defensive masterclass as in 2010
Skriniar was back to be Skriniar yesterday, Bastoni too and De Vrij even blocked Lewandowski
Football depends on factor mental mainly, all the three are underpeforming at this beginning of season.. regardless of Handanovic who's crap and it's beautiful not to have him in Champions League
