What was that EUR400M yearly wage Messi is on I heard these few days? Fake news again or true?

I dunno, PSG still playing with that back three, but their defending is still pretty bad. This game vs Nice they had so many chances n control a lot of the game it was pretty sad to watch I just dont get why back 3 if its supposed to make u defensively better but it has never been, so its a real waste to give up one player elsewhere to fit in someone like Danilo or Ramos just to plug the holes at back or something.

Anyway, doubt Messi will come back to Barca, we prolly only be able to offer a small fraction of what the rich clubs can.

Paris Saint-Germain have decided to suspend Lionel Messi with immediate effect for two weeks, sources confirm.

Bad form by Messi. Not that he will care, seems mentally checked out, although I'm not sure he ever mentally checked in to Paris.

In fact PSG used to be a likeable club i remember just before QSI the era of Hoarau, Luyindula, Kezman etc. Of course they had mediocre results but they were fighting hard and the club still had a spirit back then. Why did he leave then

You have to wonder how much longer the oil rich state will be involved.

They have spent millions, tried to revamp entire player market, held back discontented players and influence peddling with UEFA and yet achieved virtually nothing for their expenditures and corruption over several years.

Now they have their prized stars, all reportedly likely to move on except the one they renewed for 5 years at exorbitant salary and likely more to depart in coming years.

I think it’s just a matter of time before they recognize their purchase as a failed investment!

It wasn't an offer though. QSG paid the release clause. Neymar is stupid for getting out of Barca where it was all going great and he didn't even have Mendes as an agent lol

every big club has had failed investments. Madrid, utd, city, barca everyone. Psg are better as a club than they were before the takeover. They were in so much debt and were not even qualifying for the champions league nor the then uefa cup. They took a gamble and it hasnt panned out but that's part of the business. A learning experience for them on how to manage contracts. If they're smart it might even make them better. The messi experiment was a failure, but can't blame them for the gamble. who with the cash wouldn't? Neymar, at least they got to a UCL final, but i'm curious to see how they manage stars going forward.

you can say that for a lot of teams, you still have to play who's in front of you. they got to that final and its not like they got destroyed by bayern (who if i remember correctly annihilated barcelona en route to that final). they have the resources, at this point they have to gamble on players.....their ownership will take solace in the fact that the fans are furious with the players and not the club (and rightly so)

So whats the overall true story with Messi getting penalized by PSG now? They didnt want him to leave to overseas during the season n Messi thought fk it I can do whatever I want during a day off? Then PSG changed it so the day off turned into a training day right?

Wonder what the rules are if any to restrict players to travel during the day off?

It's not a "day off" unless it's an official holiday or one that's stated in the company's policies or one allowed by the club or one allowed by contract or an event happens (sickness, etc.)

Messi knew this.  He asked PSG and Galtier if he could leave after the game.  He was told that he could only go if the game was won by PSG... if not, no player, Messi or not, was given the day off.

He knowingly went anyhow.

PSG are allowed to sanction the worker in such a case according to French labor laws... and these laws are extremely friendly to the workers.  

Neymar always made up excuses in order to avoid penalties.  So in a way, Messi is more honest (or stupid or arrogant) than Neymar.  However, this type of behavior is ridiculous.  You are the employee of a club.   You have to show up to work.  End of.

Leo Messi could potentially terminate his contract with PSG within the next 10 days.

He may not return to training and could even reach an agreement to end his time at the club early.
