All of Asensio, Isco, Marcelo, Vallejo, Bale are finished but they are here for the year. The trying of Asensio at midfield was simply to try another warm body in a midfield low on body count from an overcrowded attacker field.

Up for sale or loans is Jovic and Odriozola (although his move may already be completed). Plus they are still working on Mariano.

What has been stated is that Flo is anxious for more sales with the idea of building up transfer funds for next summer. Case in point they are considering cancelling the loan deal of Mayoral to sell him (in Italy). plus Ceballos is planned to be moved in January. A sale of Hazard would fit in nicely with this plan!

What can or cannot happen next year entirely depends on this new COVID19 variant, sadly.  If clubs are forced to close or limit their stadium attendance + the shit media deal that La Liga has...  well, austerity it is.

A big moneymaker for clubs is also exhibitions, as much as we hate them.  Those are currently gone too.

All football clubs (and venue entertainment in general) need to figure out virtual/digital revenue streams. OR, just adjust wages and transfer fees to account for, well, less revenue. What a novel idea.

How is it that we can afford to offer PSG up to 180m for Mbappe? As you stated there didn't seem to be no funds available for any signings. Doesn't seem like the case here. Maybe we aren't as broke as many seem to think that we are during these troubled times

They have raised 200M in sales, that’s counting a couple  of older ones. Biggest contributors were Varane and Odegaard. There as a full listing a couple of weeks ago when Odegaard deal was being discussed. I kept saying, but noone was listening, we weren’t (as comparisons were being made of us and Barca) broke. We were short in transfer funds but operating budget that covers salaries was just fine. Enough that they can offer the salary necessary. There was an analysis of true operating budget vs salary load (actual cost to club) amongst big clubs and RMadrid was the only one in the green!

We have a net cash position of circa 200M€ after raising capital from sales and reducing debt over the past season to circa 50M€

The only reason we haven’t gone bogus with the transfers yet is because the club is understanbly reticient in raising debt for transfers during the pandemic, due to lack of visibility over this season’s revenues, and we also have a few promising young players Vinicius, Kubo (have high hopes for him, kid is too technical and a gold mine considering the Asian market), Miguel, Arribas, Blanco and some that are even younger in the ranks such as Israel Salazar (CF) and David De la Vibora (LB). The Mbappe deal will be strictly a cash deal, if it goes as planned.

If he starts the game... then I think this deal is in trouble for Madrid.

Pure gut feeling... I think it will take 220 mil for PSG to sell.  And I also feel that Madrid might pay it.

For those who say Madrid should wait and get him for free:
- He won't be free. Per proper journalists in France, he would ask for a minimum 125 mil signing bonus. That's basically the transfer fee required
- There would be competition for his services by many other teams
- He may change his mind

Except for Le Parisien, no other news outlet has confirmed yet that the second offer has been rejected.

PSG is certainly acting strange here, and their silence doesn't bode well.

The deal could still go through, but I'm starting to believe that they are trying to drag things out until the very last second of the transfer window and then get out of it De Gea style.

I'm saying this because if they were truly preparing for life after Mbappé, don't you think there would be countless rumors linking them to potential replacements? There was one rumor linking them to Richarlison and then nothing. Dead silence.

I feel they are not even trying to find a replacement and that's because they have no intention of letting him go now.

There's close to 48 hours left in the transfer window. I guess we will get our answer very soon.

The 2nd offer wasn't rejected or countered (which is what Madrid hoped).  Discussions are being held between intermediaries of the clubs, not directly (per French media, not me just to be clear).

Let's see if Mbappe is in the starting 11 later today.  If he is, then everyone here should expect him to likely not come.

I think the offer came too late from Madrid.  It makes common sense that, given PSG doesn't care one bit about money, that they would want to replace Mbappe before letting him go.  There may not have been enough time for PSG to secure a replacement.  Remember, Icardi is injured.  They don't have any other central strikers.
