Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Ending of TLOU1 is fantastic. Don't think there is a need to expand it.
TLOU3 is definitely coming with or without the TV show tbh.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Finished Fargo season 2 already
It was a good show but the last 2 episodes were disappointing, rate it B+ overall. The first season was better, more suspenseful and more in the Fargo vibe than this one whose more of a classical crime drama.
Props to a bunch of actors especially the couple we follow all season long. What i don't understand is why no member of the Gerhardt family look like each other, i disliked this incoherence.

Lorne Malvo rightly gets so much praise as a character, but for me personally, Mike Milligan is easily my favorite character of any season of this show. Loved every single scene he was in.

Yes Milligan was a cool character
All season long i thought the guy's attitude reminds me of someone, could not find who. But now i have found it: similar to Jules in Pulp Fiction

Didn't get all the way through it. I didn't really like the style of it, but will eventually finish as it I do know it gives some backstory to Mike.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
The latest season was certainly good. I was always fascinated by the entire family dynamic and this season has done perhaps the best job of capturing that since at least season 2.

the wire imo. Although both of these are still better than most TV shows over the past 15 years of exploding TV popularity.Robespierre wrote:Poll : The Wire or the Sopranos?

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
At the end I 've seen neither of them Â
Changed totally genre, level, Â also for lack of time .. I 've folded up on a lot softer series that occupies me less time , just a pastime for 30-40 minutes
I'm watching Love on Netflix, romantic comedy, legit and nice series , Â I don't deny Gillian Jacobs from Community was a great reason to begin it

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
speaking of Netflix...
recently watched Behind Her Eyes. I'll give it a 7/10. It's only 6 episodes and does well enough to sustain your intrigue in that span of time. The somewhat intriguing characters are the best part of it.
and then The Haunting of Hill House... really liked it, 8.5/10. Loved the non-chronological narrative that seamlessly interchanged between past and present. And the characters as well as the house were alluring characters!

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Season 3 of Fargo is disappointing so far... i finished ep6 last night
The actress who plays Gloria is very good, without words she express a lot of things. VM Varga also an interesting character, respect for living inside a trailer. But the rest... meh... there is not the tension and brutality we saw in previous seasons
I will finish the season and probably watch the 4th once it's on Netflix, that said

Very sad news. She was superb in Arrested Development and as Mallory Archer. RIP.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
You guys watch Black List ?
The reception is widely positive, i am surprised because the realistic, ethical, moral aspects of this series leave a lot to be desired you would think critics get bored by the redundance
But i am hooked myself, about to finish season 2, i rate B+
Their ability to sub-plot is incredible, Reddington is great

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
heard about... i have no doubt that it's good, but it sounds just like every spy/detective thriller action show... the well written and intriguing characters will carry it for about 3 to 4 seasons, before it falls into rinse, repeat redundancy.
I might start a new show soon though, and Banshee is at the top of my list, i believe.

I liked the first 3-4 seasons then lost interest and I don't even remember why. I think it was quite repetitive.

Yes that's what i expect. Usually they run out of idea and new intrigues revolve around romance or characters develop mental illness. Hopefully we avoid this
What's different in this series: they present the world conspiracies as a bunch of casuals and Reddington outsmarts them every time. Still each episode is a new case, there's so much action that it remains interesting despite some redundance.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
James Spader has been single-handedly keeping that show going. He's fantastic in it.
It is very redundant though. The list itself is never-ending, it seems.
