Re: Juventus summer 2020 special - now summer 2023
I don't particularly want this move to happen. But we'd still be covered on the wings in case of 4-3-3
RONALDO-DYBALA-KULU as first choice
MORATA-DZEKO-BERNA or DOUGLAS-MORATA-BERNA as second choice
In case of 3-5-2 all those guys can play either CF or SS or both
Morata is not the most spectacular move, but it is cheap and low-risk for now, and it makes another forward transfer pointless. Never been a big fan of Chiesa nor do i believe we can buy him right now
Midfielder next please (that much i won't be convinced after just one match)

Midfield is done, 4 players for 2 positions plus Ramsey. Departures of Khedira and Costa seem to be the next possible moves. Chiesa is as always supposed to join, but I dont see there being money for him this year. IIRC next year he will have 1 year of the contract and he has wanted to join us for like 2 seasons now. So he will go then imo.

According to reports, Khedira continues to be difficult. He refuses to terminate the contract in the style of Matuidi or Higuain.
Costa there aren't many news.
Apparently we have a deal for Chiesa. The issue now is selling Costa first.

Chiesa is a Fiorentina player right now, let's see what will happen in these three days until the end of the transfer market. We hope that he can stay at Fiorentina.

Welcome Chiesa
Just don't be another Bernardeschi
Definitely an upgrade on Cuadrado though

Opposite player as Bernardeschi imo. Less talent but a mentality of a different planet compared to Bernardeschi. An upgrade on Cuadrado at 22 year old, brings youth and hunger.

Re: Juventus summer 2020 special - now summer 2023
Betting on my life Chiesa will flop in Juventus.
Not because I do not rate him nor do I want him to fail but;
Comparisons to Bernadeschi are made for a reason.
Rinc is right on their talent difference and Bernadeschi at Fiorentina was better than whatever Chiesa has done.
Mentality difference is correct but Chiesa also has his tunnel vision and sometimes forgets he has teammates despite his creative abilities.
Bernadeschi never was like how he was now in Firenze let alone his early Juventus days but this is his confidence at the moment.
Unless Chiesa develops past his weaknesses he wont even be a starter. Talent is there and 22 is quite young but I personally don't see it happening and another 1-2 years at Viola were needed.

If we sign Chiesa we can integrate him easily i think, our current squad is the worst we've had since many years. As Juve player, he deserves a chance like everyone else, but don't count on me for the pre-buy hype for all reasons i said in previous discussions. His selfishness will be less of a problem here, it covers (in part not in full) my main concern which is can he improve the decision making ? If Paratici can negociate multiple instalments, it can turn into good business. If we really pay straight 50 millions with such depleted midfield, this transfer has no credibility.
Next, sell Douglas or Bernardeschi, or they give them an extra 3 months under Pirlo ? What about this guy Aouar, he seems to be the last worthy midfielder still available.

His decision making really is the key point that puts off a lot of us off him. Otherwise he does not really lack anything else.
Its comical how both Khedira and Douglas not refusing to leave is the sole thing preventing this. Douglas can be used and well for he is very skilled but Khedira is washed up and just done.

Chiesa's decision making is better if he plays wide, simply because he has a lot less options. When he drifts inside, he gets lost

Douglas Costa one year loan to Bayern
Chiesa should be done tonight
So our signings are:
Arthur
Kulusevski
Morata
Chiesa
McKennie
Decent mercato, all young players signed too with Morata being the oldest (but still replacing an even older player, Higuain)

With Pjanic gone it makes sense that our regista is Bonucci. What i find the most disappointing is of course the lack of grit in midfield, those guys are scared to tackle and when they actually care enough, they do it recklessly.

Chiesa officially a Juve player
2 year loan with option to buy that becomes obligation with easy objectives.

Absolutely unbelievable that Khedira is still at the club despite us clearing most of our deadwood. Just pay his severance fee and put him out of his misery.

Re: Juventus summer 2020 special - now summer 2023
Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that an agreement with Udinese Calcio S.p.a. for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Rolando Mandragora has been finalized for a consideration of € 10,7 million, to be paid during sportive seasons 2020/2021 and 2021/2022. Juventus and the player have signed a contract of employment until 30 June 2025.
Loaned right back to Udinese for this season, with an option to extend the loan next season
We had a buyback clause, glad we exercised it and I hope he comes back strong after his injury (torn ACL in June 2020).

Rename it to summer 2021. Some big decisions have to be made.
Who would you sell, keep and buy? (From the entire squad)
Will you keep or sack Pirlo?
I'll post my thoughts later.

honestly I find it difficult to imagine or predict summer transfer capabilities and activities without having a bit more of an estimation as to when fans will really return

Re: Juventus summer 2020 special - now summer 2023
This is the least emotionally attached to a group of players I’ve felt. There’s some real talent in the squad but few have been praiseworthy consistently this season
I would keep and prioritize Chiesa (can’t believe I’m saying that after years of not being a fan), Morata and Cuadrado
I think Juventus should be open to selling any other player. I know there are players with obvious quality like De Ligt, Dybala and Arthur, but they also have real market value so decisions will have to be made. I want to see a big revolution even though I know it likely won’t happen because at most we will see 5-7 players out (this would be great though). We also have to make sure Douglas Costa doesn’t come back, high wages and not a great player for Juve outside of a handful of matches
I think Ronaldo should go. We don’t deserve him. Our project isn’t ready for a player like that.
As for Pirlo, I’m okay with him staying or leaving, depending on the replacement. If we go with a lame veteran like Sarri, better to keep Pirlo. If we go back to Allegri, I have mixed feelings but I would probably lean towards Allegri unless we really go full youth - which probably won’t happen
I would go all in on Locatelli and Aouar, and be in the Haaland race (I don’t think he would necessarily join us but this is a generational player). I would be in for Donnarumma if possible, you just have to be in for a player like that if available on a free, I think he does stay with Milan though. I think a vice Morata is necessary, Juventus were heavily linked with Scamacca in the winter, we just need someone there as our attacking depth hasn’t been the best this season.
I also hope we avoid Icardi because I can see his name floating around again this summer.

Re: Juventus summer 2020 special - now summer 2023
Agreed on almost everything except i absolutely 100% don't want Pirlo back next season. Allegri is my obvious man for the job, but surely other quality managers are available. Pirlo is not ready.
Also a minor disagreement on Arthur being a quality player. Decent at best, not involved, easy pass merchant. To think we traded Pjanic for him, if he was finished then i don't know what Arthur is.
We lack talent in midfield, since 4 years it must be adressed, now is the breaking point, if we don't do it next summer we'll drown in mediocrity.

Re: Juventus summer 2020 special - now summer 2023
Pirlo has these remaining matches. He’s made rookie mistakes this season because that’s exactly what he is. If we do go young and for a revolution, I don’t mind keeping Pirlo but I’m saying this because it’s Pirlo. If it was anyone else I would be in favour of dropping him but he’s a legend and I would hate to see us drop him if we are intending a revolution which will bring growing pains
Alternatively, if we keep largely the same squad then it probably won’t make sense to keep him because I don’t see this group working with his system
