Someone wanna tell me Bernie wouldn’t have a chance?
He wouldn't. He has a very narrow following in terms of how it's spread on the map. If he were the candidate, he doesn't capture any more states.

Re: 2020 US presidential election
"As you plan your sleep schedule for the rest of the week: We should have near-complete unofficial results from Wisconsin early tomorrow morning, as Milwaukee is expected to finish counting around 6 a.m. Eastern. Michigan originally said it would take until Friday to count all of its votes, but officials have revised that estimate to say they’ll be done tomorrow as well. Finally, Pennsylvania results probably won’t be known until Friday."
For al the Europeans losing sleep over this
The early reported voting in Pennsylvania leans republican, this could still go either way, but we'll see how it plays out.

I don’t agree. People are tired of establishment candidates. Those mid west and Mid East states have a serious chance of voting for Biden.
Trust me sports I’m not a fan of socialism but it’s a matter of integrity at this point, and it looks bad on dems to attack trump then nominate a corporate stooge.

Arizona is a pretty big pick up for Biden, if true.

That's just not true. Bernie has literally no pull worth talking about other than very focused areas. Just as an example... PA, WI, Michigan, etc.. would be Trump landslides if it was Bernie.
He appeals to roughly 25% of the US population. They're very loyal... but it's still only 25%.
I mean think about it. Biden is about as mild a candidate that Dems could serve up to Conservatives who would be sick of Trump... and Trump may still win this. Imagine if they had Bernie trying to appeal to these people.

Re: 2020 US presidential election
Fox is the only one to call it so far.
It will all come down to whether all mail in ballots that arrive after today are counted. It will be a mess. But for this eif you freaking out, mail in ballots have a blue bias and in person votes a red one, so the map you're looking at could be a lot redder than the final product.

How dumb are you to mail in your ballot in a contested election... you're relying on the postal service for your vote.

Yeah it is, feel like this election would be decided by AZ and PA.
In politics I feel the most successful ticket is nationalism and social economics; Bernie Sanders has the policies but doesn’t deliver patriotism.
The problem with the left in the US and Europe is they try to deliver populism, but from social prospective they come from a place of elitism. That is the major place they need to work on, they have poor ability to connect with regular folks.

Yup. I think Biden still has the clearest path to victory, but it should not be this close.
He lost 2018 election, usually midterm results are strong indicator of general election. Since then COVID happen and over 200,000 people lost their lives.

I am a big fan of ranked choice voting, seem like a much democratic way rather than this winner take all mentality.

Re: 2020 US presidential election
It's midnight here, and I've been with people (hence not on GL).
Here is what it's looking like.
Biden, from what I know, looks to be in a pretty great position in NE-02. Fox called AZ for Biden (too early?), but they're probably right.
Biden needs to win WI and MI. We'll know those results tomorrow.
WI looks pretty meh right now, but mail in ballots aren't being reported (not sure if early vote is). WI doesn't report absentee until ALL absentee are counted, so WI will look like Trump for a while...until a huge Blue shift. Is it enough for Biden? It probably is. MN is looking REALLY good now (already called for Biden), and in 2016 MN ran ahead of WI by about 2 points or so. WI has also been a REALLY stable race in polling this entire year, with a metric fuck ton of polls. He's probably winning.
And if he's probably winning WI, he's probably winning MI. There is conflicting information about PA.
If Biden wins WI and MI, he is the next president of the United States.
Meanwhile, GA is looking like it's still possible for Biden, and NC is within sight, but probably not likely -- those are fallback options in case there is an Upper Midwest surprise. I wouldn't really bet on those heading Biden's way...but who knows.

Re: 2020 US presidential election
Overall? You'd want to be in Biden's position right now.
It might look kinda crazy, but everyone has been saying it: wait until we're done counting all of the votes. It's possible Biden sweeps WI, MI, PA, GA, and NE-02, and all of a sudden it looks like a pretty strong night. That also might not happen. We'll see

Re: 2020 US presidential election
Still too early to say that.
With GA up in the air and PA not set to report until later this week, Biden could lose one of MI or WI (which would be really bad) and still win.

Re: 2020 US presidential election
I know the feel. I am up at 2AM right now and not really that tired. I can feel it maybe starting to set on.
Not where I wanted to be, but GOP killing the opportunity for MI, WI, and PA to count absentee ballots before the election killed our chances of knowing who won on election night -.-
My big fear right now is that it looks like Dems will not flip the Senate.

Re: 2020 US presidential election
Ohio looked promising for Biden early on, what happened there
Honestly even if Biden wins this is like a loss with so many people willing to vote Trump again. I wouldnt even if I were a republican lizard
i'm counting on Georgia, that'd be great

Re: 2020 US presidential election
Unpopular opinion: the contest shouldn't be that close if the other party is Donald Trump. It means Biden+Harris nomination by dems has been very weak. Winning the prez election but losing the senate would also be... not too tasty.

I don’t agree. It’s not the politics or views at this point as I’ve said before. People don’t even take Biden seriously because he’s an establishment stooge. He wasn’t our best chance. Why did Obama win back then? People thought he would bring change from our shitty two party system. When he turned out to be a corporate worshipper just like every other politician, people became fed up.
We had Hillary. Didn’t work. We have Biden. Didn’t work. Maybe in four years we can try again with a neoliberal. Won’t work again. The American people are tired of the establishment.
I live in a conservative state.. and for the majority of trump supporters this is their argument. And then to make matters worse democrats and the crazies in the party hurl personal insults and nasty rhetoric. So guess what, trump supporters come out in full force.
I don’t even care at this point. I predicted another W for trump. I was right, period. I predicted the same thing would happen that happened in 2016. I was right. I hate to be a *bleep* about it but no one ever listens and now I get to gloat lol
