Looks good. Production level seems to have gone up too.

Re: The Witcher TV series
So the character with the F-boy haircut above is actually Vesemir and thats mostly what interests me in what is basically an origin story.
Should be interesting.

Re: The Witcher TV series
Honestly I'm not sure. I saw some people crying about changes to the source on reddit but I didn't dive too deep as I'm only 3 epis in to the season. But so far it seems fine?

Re: The Witcher TV series
Same, the first 2 eps were very good. Also feels higher production value than the first season.

Re: The Witcher TV series
I've seen some negative comments on the Lambert-Eskiel dynamic and shying away from source material. But yeah i hope its just book readers and incels again.

Finished S2. Much much better than S1.
Makes me want to replay W3 but gotta wait for the remaster.

Re: The Witcher TV series
Finished S2. I liked it. There were some changes but not all seem bad to me (I remember struggling with the pacing and structure of the books a lot). The production value took a very noticeable step up. Had some doubts about Ciri in S1 (seemed a bit too innocent at the time) but she owned the role in S2, vast improvement and growth there. All the comments about the season being "ruined" were thankfully wrong imo.
Wish I had rewached S1 before though, spent the first 4 episodes going "who's this again?"

Re: The Witcher TV series
I'm like 4 Episodes in, it's been so long since i read the books so i fortunately don't remember things people might be complaining about. (Except the obvious like Eskel)
My favourite thing about the show so far is probably Ciri's interaction with the other Witchers.

Re: The Witcher TV series
Finished it. The finale is a banger. Wasnt convinced by Ciri until that last episode. She finally settled in and slayed that ep, fantastic performance
Production value is insanely higher compared to season 1
Triss is as bland as ever though. Big miss there. Dijkstra is perfect and Triss is wildly imperfect

Re: The Witcher TV series
Basically for whole season but mainly talking about one plotline and how it impacts specific character relationships.
- Spoiler:
- I've finished it. While there are shit tonnes of changes there's only two i actually care about negatively.
Yen's relationship with Ciri and character as a whole got completely flipped on it's head due to the whole Deathless Mother plotline.
I also didn't like how Vesemir's relationship with Ciri feels kinda shall we say Frosty.
I understand why the Deathless Mother plotline happened, they wanted a genuine antagonist because lets be honest the Blood of Elves book didn't really have much of one. But the knockon effect it had on Yen's relationship with Ciri isn't really worth it.

Re: The Witcher TV series
- Spoiler:
- Thats true...but to be honest, at the end Yen sacrifices herself for Ciri in an effort to reconcile the whole situation (and then says she'd do it over again), imo by doing that in s3 her relationship with Ciri will be fine/as it should be
Vesemir seems weird overall to me,after playing the games I didnt expect him being depicted in this way
Who do you think is the worst cast character in terms of acting and all that? gotta be triss, she looks like an absolute rookie next to tissaia

Re: The Witcher TV series
Yeah felt like they could use an extra episode to deepen that relationship, the "change" was kind of abrupt

Re: The Witcher TV series
I should say tho i mainly really enjoyed the show, i just dunno if those decisions were for the betterment of those relationships.
I guess we'll see in Season 3.

Re: The Witcher TV series
I suppose it's kind of true that they've created this series in a way to appeal more to the tik-tok kinda people instead of having it be a boring, long-winded story which is what books are. Thats why book-people are pissed.
I have some gripes with it too and it was clearly made for those who only played the games.
GoT S1 through S7 is a good counter example. I liked the series, but for the most part it was boring and nothing happened. Audiences these day prefer more action, instead of neverending storytelling and plot building and nothing "big" happening for a few episodes in a row.
Then again, having a forced twist at the end of every episode seems unnatural too. It's kinda stupid creating a show in a way that every episode must end with a cliffhanger. The story itself should be gripping enough without these fake cliffhangers.
Shouldnt have gone to netflix with this pitch then. It's just what they do. I like it for what it is, but I realize how different it possibly could have looked
