Neymar rumors refuse to go away. See no point in this transfer. It is an incredibly short sighted move. We have a very good squad and really no need to bring in Neymar. By bringing him now, we give Madrid a free reign at Mbappe. Smarter play would be save the cash for a play at Mbappe. We have a French contingent here and should use it to persuade him.

Must commend the club on CB scouting though. It has been outstanding past 3 years. Landed Umtiti for $20m. Before injury, was genuinely elite. And then bought Lenglet for $37m. And he looks like a steal. Hope it's 3 for 3 with Todibo.

Btw, strictly on ability and IQ, removing age (which is his biggest selling point), I'd rather go all in for Neymar than the French Walcott.

Deal seems to be finally off which is good. Prohibitively costly. We should rather spend the money to upgrade the creaking stadium. With Neymar not coming, Dembele gets another shot. I feel he can still come good unlike most Barca fans. Injuries and a lack of squad integration have held him back. He needs a proper mentor, a fatherly or senior figure who can guide him. Either Valverde who is not the type or Messi who is also not the type. Similar to how Ronnie helped Messi break through.

With Neymar's transfer seemingly off, and Coutinho already loaned out, will Barcelona be signing anyone? And if so, what position would you try to strengthen?

I think squad is really good. I would probably try to sell one of Rakitic or Busquets. Midfield has good balance. At the back covered at FB area. CB area is good once Pique regains form.
On to the forward line, once Messi and Suarez come back, it can be a really good forward line. Potentially have game changers like Dembele on the bench. Perez seems a good squad option at forward.
All in all, I think it is a very good squad despite hiccups to start the season.

I still think you need a CF and should have spent the money there instead of signing Griezmann.

The fact is that Suárez has been meh for a while now and he isn't getting any younger. He is 33 in 4 months. Griezmann has shown he won't be able to play this role very well, as good as he plays one touch football and flicks, he is neither a menacing nor a poaching forward.

It was not a well thought purchase at all, most of us realize that and have called out repeatedly why he cant replace Suarez. Suarez is old but reality is there are no good replacements in the market. Smart option would have been to save the money and wait for alternatives. Atleast we didnt waste money on Neymar.

you should target players like Richarlison to pair with Messi, not the likes of griezmann. fast strong two footef and can play on the wings or as a 9. glad you haven’t though

Just watching the North London derby and thinking Lacazette would have been a good option to phase out Suárez.

Would be another short term purchase as he is old. Smart play would be working on Mbappe to be Suarez and Messi's heir. I think he would be really tempted. We have a good French contingent here and the prospect of replacing Messi as the face of the club. I think we would have a good shot once his contract expires. Knowing the club, we are not that far sighted.

Lacazette wouldn't be ideal but he's 4.5 years younger than Suárez. And he the type of striker Barcelona need. He is technical, very lethal and hard working.

Mbappé is pretty much destined to go to Madrid.

I dont think so if we show interest. In fact, I think we have the better chance. We can provide a more attractive proposition. Chance to succeed Messi, a strong French contingent with a French Sporting Director. I think we would be favorites.

Rafinha on loan to Celta. Frees up some space in midfield. Rakitic stays despite rumors that both the Board and Valverde wanted him out. Rumors of a swap with Bernardeschi. Disappointed that he didnt leave as it would have opened up some space in midfield for Alena and Puig.

Replace Neymar with Pogba and that's Madrid's transfer saga as well. Alas, we got Hazard, Mendy and Jovic and you guys got De Jong, Neto (which apparently people haven't realised Barcelona paid money for), Griezmann and Firpo

Yeah well we've not had a bad transfer window, Griezmann and De jong definitely elevate our overall quality but we still could have made some wiser moves. Not that it matters with that dork Valverde at the wheel lmao, your ship is at least steady, ours is in the middle of a storm

De Light has not had a good start to the season. His flaws, lack of athleticism and slow reactions have come to the fore. He is just not suited to play for us, especially the current version of our team where there is no press and the CB's are often left completely exposed.
Bullet avoided and I am glad we didnt spend the transfer fee and exorbitant wages. If only we had not signed Griezmann as well.
