Let's not forget that Mou thought Dier would improve his team and put in a 40m bid for him

Should have been fired on the spot.

Its this season where the team has been genuinely terrible. Last season they had a comfortably better season than Spurs, even when comparing the expectations of the two teams.
No different to his tenure at Chelsea then, it's almost like he's done as an elite manager and has been for a while.

Also the rumours of him tabling a bid of like 50-60m for Maguire were legit too
that's why it rustles me when I see ppl say but but the club didn't back him this summer
would have been playing a midfield trio of Dier Fellaini Matic if he got his way
the man should not have a big say over transfers at any club he ends up at in the future

Except people did say he was done and should be sacked last season. Especially after he got outclassed by Montella.

Yeah not really refuting you, and sure, some wanted him to stay
Felt that "history being rewritten" is too strong here. Feel like Firenze and Glory both wanted him out last season.

Re: Next Manchester United manager?
So ahead of today's Tottenham vs Utd game, which really is just a big job interview contest for the Utd permanent job, Pochettino is still leading the above cited RedCafe poll with 1029 votes and 51.9%.
Ole has so far risen to distand second, with 267 votes amd 13.5%.
Let's see what impact tonights game and result will have

Imagine if Solskjaer pulls a Zidane and wins them the CL? Improbable, but not impossible.

Re: Next Manchester United manager?
Regardless of who Man United's coach is next season, I hope they continue playing the same, entertaining brand of football. Most of my friends are Man United fans, so I watch a lot of their matches - and I can't honestly say that I've doing so in recent years.

Disagree there's nothing to play for.
Top 4 as a long shot, EL to save face, the club is still in the CL, FA cup still happening, every league position means money, not to speak of the reputation damage that an even more embarrassing performance will bring. Season's not even half played.
Bad judgement and brazen ignorance at display from myself I must admit. I was very wrong, and then cocky about it.
Ole has been an inspired appointment and he's quite clearly doing a fantastic job without any ifs and buts

Re: Next Manchester United manager?
Derision more correct as the league really isn't top level but hearing of him from an acquittance had me (hesitantly) look into a team that happened to be quite good.
Not that I am not surprised by his response as manager for United.

Anyway, winning game after game, is it 7 games now?, the players blossoming, closing in on top 4.
Hard to see how anyone else could do a better job.

Re: Next Manchester United manager?
Honestly many managers have had periods of success who are not actually good.
The real test will be will be how they deal with a few losses, wouldn't be surprised if they give him a 5 year contract in the summer and ends up struggling.
It's not like we haven't seen this before.

Re: Next Manchester United manager?
Aside from Tottenham, he still hasn't had a proper test so it's definitely way too early to get excited. One thing for sure, he's definitely a big upgrade to the one they had before because I'm pretty sure the Special One would've dropped many points during the same run.
7 wins out of 7 is still quite impressive. Let's now see if he can keep this up and more importantly how he'll do against the likes of City and Liverpool and in the CL.
Wish him all the best.

Re: Next Manchester United manager?
The players responded positively to change is all, I doubt he's some god who magically turned the entire team around. They should get Simeone if they have a chance.
They can always hire a Solksjaer but Simeone won't be available forever.

He isn't doing anything revolutionary, he's putting the right players on the pitch, and letting them play.
The biggest change was just removing the toxic tumor that is Mourinho.
