First of all, when you ask a question thinking you are being clever like saying "who cares" you have to expect a "jo mama" or similar comeback, you just open your self up to it.

There is an interesting history to the "jo mama" comeback. The first known use of it was in a Shakesperean play, "Titus Andronicus".

Demetrius:"Villain, what hast thou done?"

Aaron:"That which thou canst not undo."

Chiron:"Thou hast undone our mother."

Aaron:"Villain, I have done thy mother."

And, you used a hackneyed comeback. Very uncool. The clever comeback I learned as a teenager was:

"Let's get off moms....I just got off yours."

There is no charge for this lesson.

Sorry that you lost your mother Rob, sincerely

Yo mama jokes are quite common, it comes to mind damn quickly. Sometimes (like now) it creates an uneasy situation, the best thing to do in that case is just apologize. No way you could have known.

I'll never not like a post that drops facts from classical literature that educates on a modern joke's history. Well done, sir.

Not to mention Ghoulam who is after his 400+ long ACL.

Will be a huge asset to Napoli in the UCL should be recover quick enough to perform for them and of course should they not fail to move past the group.

I can't imagine that Ghoulam will play vs Liverpool since Rui has been doing so well. Will be huge going forward if he recovered well.

Milik after his supersub winning volley v Atalanta scores a brace to route Frosinone.

Spoke of how the goal v Atalanta gave him confidence and it was evident here.

Never can anyone really call his tenure so far in Napoli a failure given his huge lay-off after a momentous start in his debut season for Napoli broke any momentum he had and his goal per minute ratio has been outstanding anyhow.

Hope to see it continue. Excellent skill.

That Is the definiton of " bottle job " , a popular English term to describe these situations that I 've learnt on Goallegacy though

Not just Roma had two men more on last minutes, but hell , Cagliari had played without : Barella , Castro , Pavoletti . Their 3 best players and the only Cagliari players rated by me together to Cragno (GK)

Cragno exactly.. .. He continues to play good games, we should change that Slovenian GK so I wonder if Cragno can be a proper choice
Never played on a big team , first Serie A season relevant for him, still very young, but surely interesting

Probably best Serie A GK  so far (Sczezsny Is the best about value, but Juve are walking in the league so far...)

Rome wasn't built in a day

It should be fitting that that's applicable to its fall as well

Roma is in a deep rut, Monchi needs to do a lot more work

Another Roman bottle job

Lazio score 2-1 on penalty kick on 95', but Saponara scores  on 99' , and give a joy to both Milano sides

Insane Saturday night

I posted my full thoughts in the Roma thread, but in short I can't say this result surprises me given we are leaderless on the pitch and decimated by injuries away to a team that we simply don't have a good away record against.

This was not a straightforward fixture. Never has been and probably never will be.

It'll be a shame if EDF ends up paying the price for the fundamental mental mistakes of these players.

EDF has to deal with the introduction of a substantial number new players into the first 11 at the beginning of the year when the teams he is competing with do not. Even if the new players are top notch, it can take a season to integrate them into a team. Can't blame EDF.

Trust me, r/ASroma, RomaPress and Chiesa Di Totti are doing just that right now. They are blaming him for everything under the sun. Nothing is the fault of these players. It's all on EDF apparently not forcing Schick to actually strike the ball in order to score goals and Monchi for apparently not playing the players in the right positions because I guess that's what they believe a sporting director should be doing. It's ridiculous and delusional. Some even want EDF gone because he dared criticize his players. They deserve that criticism far more than he does.

Jim Pallotta is a lot of things, but at times like this, he has generally kept a cool head when it comes to making coaching changes. That's what I like most about him as our president. I just hope he keeps his head once more here.

2018/19 Calcio Saga - Page 23 Empty Re: 2018/19 Calcio Saga

Post by rincon Sun Dec 09, 2018 10:12 am

He was given a losing hand.

Yesterday the 5 most forward players were all under 23.  Alisson traded for Olsen, Santon being the only reinforcement of defense. Most importantly I think, a poorly built midfield.

Everyone knows EDF plays a midfield 3 yet they gave him 2 trequartistas, Cristante and Nzonzi. It's the same trap that Milan fell in, no midfield controller added to cover for when 34 year old DDR is out. No one to build play in the center aside from Pellegrini whose best role isn't even that. NZonzi is way too limited, destroyer-only DM.

So for the 4-2-3-1 forced to play now, Pellegrini, Pastore, Zaniolo and maybe Cristante are best in the hole, leaving DDR-NZonzi for the double pivot.

Then are the goals. Salah and Nainggolan were sold, the two biggest contributors of goals aside from Dzeko. So if Dzeko declines (as he has) they rely on SES + kids to score the bulk of the goals.

Juve, Inter, Napoli, Lazio and Milan don't have to wait for kids to bloom, for squad building, or for the next transfer window. This Roma season was handicapped.

Sassuolo and Fiore are playing a tight, equal game with a slightly better first half for Sassuolo. Berardi the best on the pitch so far, with some nice stuff with Di Fra, while Fiore has defended well.

Chiesa and Simeone on now

Pezzella with a wonderful goal saving tackle, immediately followed by an almost score by Fiore. A few minutes later Duncan scores with a fantastic outside the box shot after Lafont saved on DiFra

Proper game going on.

Christ what is this Shocked

How in the world did Sassuolo lose the three points here. 1-0 up, 2-0 up, 2-1 up, 3-1 with 10 minutes to the 90'. Then a red card for Djuricic and the 3-2 for Fiore, Milenkovic gets sent off like an idiot and at 97' Fiore equalizes.
