Re: Calcio Saga 19/20
Guys, would appreciate some review from the Serie A Legionaries at GL. Some basic/essential facts/comments would do:
#1. Transfer review/how the major clubs fared.
#2. Young players to keep an eye on.
#3. Potential surprise packages (or who will be the Atalanta this season).
#4. Potential disasters (or who will be the Roma this season).
#5. Top-Six predictions (optional)

Good questions. I honestly don't have many answers to them right now since the window is still open and we're still a few weeks off from opening matchday.
I think we'll be in the Top 6 and I also think we could potentially be the disaster club again this season. We're perennially in that running every season. I like how Cagliari is shaping up. I don't think they'll be this year's Atalanta, but they might make some noise.

Shame for us to see him go. Good for him, he wanted to leave for playing time, his contract was running out and everton paid the right price. Fair deal for all. He gets to play for a good team and in the PL as well, hopefully he adapts to life, culture and fame. Should be a success.
With Kean we had 8 forwards, even with him gone it's too many, the competition is too high.

The reception from Everton has been excellent. Will be interesting to see how he gets on.

I don't rate Kean anywhere near as highly as the Juventini hype machine despite his obvious talent but Everton for quite a long time have been a fantastic club, environment to develop along with being just what Kean needs.
Premier League football should suit him more, ideally.

Re: Calcio Saga 19/20
What youngsters do you have your eye on for this season in Serie A, Arq?
From a Roma perspective, I'm looking at Mirko Antonucci, who has impressed in pre-season. He's not a Zaniolo-level talent, but there are shades of Florenzi to him in that he might just come out of nowhere.

i dont know if gianluca mancini is considered youngster but think he is going to be enormous hit for Roma as if they will not miss loosing manolas.
tonali in brescia
Rafael Leão, Theo hernandez for milan
Vlahović / chiesa for fiorentina
Federico Dimarco dunno if he is back to Inter or he will still be in Parma

Re: Calcio Saga 19/20
Tonali for sure will be the focus this year from a youth-hype perspective. Not familiar with the others unfortunately.
As for Mancini, I'm just not sure about him honestly. He's got a knack for scoring goals despite his position so there's that, but it remains to be seen if he can adequately replace Manolas who, if I'm honest, always had a mistake or 2 in him. It wouldn't surprise me if Mancini is similar.

Re: Calcio Saga 19/20
nah, Dimarco is awful , Serie B player
Esposito is a brillaint talent but he 's s only 2001
Bastoni is interesting too, but he must still improve
I'd take an eye on Pinamonti ( Genoa CF, not ours anymore) , he's improving, he's played a positive pre-season and he's going to be coached from Andreazzoli, an anti-negative coach who is adapted to develop these sort of players

thing with Mancini that makes me think he is going to be a big hit was that he was part of that great atalanta team last year that pretty much beat every top team they played with (not in terms of final result) but performance wise
and for me in 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in defense he was the best defender for sure alongside that spanish guy who went to Wolverhampton. and yes like u said he got incredible aerial ability to get himself into goal good with reading and interception and one on one challenge. he is not that of player with pace though but i think he is a fantastic purchase for Roma

lol i actually thought Dimarco was very good he got pace going forward and defensively is good too, energetic works well with team or maybe i only saw in U21 games lol. but he is back in Inter now I would have liked to see him more in Parma
ESposito, have heard very good things about him, aparently roma wanted him included in deal with dzeko going to inter but inter apparently doesnt want that

Re: Calcio Saga 19/20
Dzeko renews with Roma, ending Inter's objective. Zaniolo renews with Roma as well. They are still looking for a CB since they are really weak in the position.
Lozano seems about to sign for Napoli for ~40m.
Juve's outcasts are becoming a pain to offload, choosing to stay against the club's decision. Matuidi, Khedira, Mandzukic and Rugani are stalling. Khedira apparently earned a place for next season, the other 3 are very much out of the current plans. Perin's career continues to be wrecked by injury so (as he is currently injured) his transfer will wait until January.

Good news for Roma then
Would have been a very diffcult replacement for Roma otherwise he is one of their best player
i dont understand why juve is looking to offload mandzukic ; he is such a powerful presence anywhere in the field... hell he would play as CB if he is required to

Re: Calcio Saga 19/20
He declined and his style fits less than Higuain or Dybala. Problem is he also dknt want to leave, so we have 3 strikers that want to stay where only 2 are needed. Any 2 of the 3 are fine but he is the most appropriate to leave.

ohhhh
didnt manutd want him?
but yea juve has a lot of fowards in bench and lot of salary to take lol unless u guys have no issues paying off salary XD
that includes cuadrado in the list i guess but cuadrado can play as wingback

Re: Calcio Saga 19/20
Yeah Cuadrado will be a fullback. The team is too large since we made all the signings early, now we need to sell.
1 GK (Perin)
1 CB (Rugani)
1 FB (Pellegrini on loan to Cagliari)
1/2 mids (Matuidi, Can?)
1 forward
That's the outlook atm. Pellegrini and Perin are sealed. Matuidi is blocking transfer so that will become a situation. Rugani was close to Roma and Monaco. The forward status is to be seen as Mandzukic doesnt want to leave, but could, on the other hand a second forward could be sold if we make a last CF signing.
The squad right now could be
Szczesny, Buffon, Pinsoglio
Chiellini, De Ligt, Bonucci, Demiral
Alex Sandro, De Sciglio, Danilo, Cuadrado
Pjanic, Rabiot, Ramsey, Bentancur, Khedira, Can
Ronaldo, Costa, Bernardeschi, Dybala, Higuain

Even as a USA fan, I really like that Lozano move from Napoli. I'm always interested in CONCACAF players making the jump to calcio. Good player tbh. Will follow his progress with interest.

Our last friendly is today. Ronaldo recovering and Ramsey might make his debut from the bench.
