Re: Brexit: Should the UK stay or go?
Are you referring to Geoffrey Cox?
Politics aside, the man has an astounding voice made for giving speeches

No, that wasn't him, it was some stout guy with dark longish hair IIRC, and it was that part of the session when the MPs pose rather short questions to the PM so I didn't get a good look at him

Here's an idea. Why don't we train British school leavers to do this kind of work that way we create jobs for British people and also the fruit don't get wasted now there's an idea.

Re: Brexit: Should the UK stay or go?
Gypsy family's for years and years got by on farm work like this but when the government decided to let in half of Europe to work here the British Gypsy family's were no longer getting the farm work because the farmers could pay the EU workers less money so I know for a fact there are people to do the work and also don't believe everything you read because my brother lives next door to a farm and my sister is incharge of the hop picking on a big farm in Kent and both farms are full of EU workers.RealGunner wrote:Unique wrote:Here's an idea. Re: Brexit: Should the UK stay or go?
I saw a headline today suggesting that if Boris's government is forced (by law) to ask for an extension, they will then approach Hungary to veto that request x)

The law says he has to ask for an extension but it doesn't say anything about how long so by law Boris could ask for another week extension and then just leave.

Re: Brexit: Should the UK stay or go?
Yup its possible, but parliament could pass another law decreeing a delay
Annelection before then is probable though.

i always thought the elected government had the power in britain but it seems like the non elected partys are the ones running the show. if boris can somehow leave without a deal from some loophole that traitor corbyn missed it will be the best day ever.

It’s amazing to me how a slight majority fed BS and lies becomes the peoples choice regardless of the truth of the BS and lies coming to light.
We see it in USA, UK and Cataluña!

you don't elect parties, you elect MPs, and a majority of MPs do not want no deal brexit.Unique wrote:i always thought the elected government had the power in britain but it seems like the non elected partys are the ones running the show. if boris can somehow leave without a deal from some loophole that traitor corbyn missed it will be the best day ever.

from Farage's group apparently
the sad thing is I've heard this kind of rhetoric online and offline from pro leave people, so it'll resonate with most of 'em.

Re: Brexit: Should the UK stay or go?
Heavy stuff from Johnson's camp.
Most amazingly, of course the supposed content of the leaked Boris-Merkel phone call is surely a lie or an exaggeration.
Everyone who knows Merkel knows that she would never make such direct, unambiguous, forceful statements.
This is a whole new level of scumminess from Johnson, wow.

Re: Brexit: Should the UK stay or go?
why is all the responsibility on boris to fold and bend over for the EU. everyone talks about a deal but a deal can only be made if the EU get everything they want. its amazing how much britain has sacrificed and given to europe over the years yet they act like a spitfull wife that is trying to take everything in a bitter divorce.

Because the EU is protecting the interest of a member (Ireland) against the interest of someone who's not going to be a member (Britain) - the EU is being a good alliance by being hard on Britain.

I am sure that is what Nigel Farage told you, alas, reality is more complex than this. Also it's blatantly untrue.

what part is untrue. the part where we give the EU billions per year or the part where the EU are unhappy about losing the billions per year.VivaStPauli wrote:Unique wrote:the EU dont give a shit about ireland. the EU only cares about the funding they will lose from GB.
