Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
“Everything has been going great with the club – we thought we were in a position where we had agreed a deal but that’s no longer the case,” Ramsey said. “So I just have to carry on playing my football and do my best for Arsenal this season and I’ll leave the rest with the club now.
“Am I disappointed? That’s a decision that they have made and things happen in football and you just have to get on with it and carry on playing the best I can. That’s all I am concentrating on and giving my best for Arsenal.”
Arsenal could receive a fee for Ramsey by selling him in January but the Wales international, who played in the 4-1 home defeat against Spain on Thursday, did not sound as though he was planning for a mid-season move.
“Would I stay for the rest of the season? Of course, yeah,” he said. “I am contracted to Arsenal and I am going to do my best now this season to try and achieve something special.”

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
As far as we know, the situation was this: the old management wanted to extend his contract and were talking with Ramsey's reps last season. Things then went very quiet and we were told at the end of last season that no progress had been made on reaching an agreement.
After Emery was confirmed as the head coach, there were reports that he saw Ramsey as a vital member of his team and wanted the club to keep him. At which point, people assumed extending Ramsey's contract would be a top priority.
However, the summer went by with no extension. Ramsey started every game (as expected), but didn't play all that well. Then, this news drops.
This is where we enter conjecture territory. The Telegraph are running a story that the decision to withdraw the offer came off the back of Emery's assessment of the player. Emery apparently decided that Ramsey wasn't as important as he thought he'd be after trying him out, and that prompted the club to withdraw their offer because whatever terms they had agreed on (verbally, it has to be said) weren't worth it anymore. Ramsey's new salary wouldn't reflect his status in the team.
Another theory, though this is mostly fan driven, is that it was Gazidis who wanted Ramsey to stay. When Gazidis left, the new management (principally Sanhelli, as the new head of football operations) withdrew the offer as they weren't so keen. However, this is mostly down the timing of the news being not long after Gazidis' confirmed departure.
In any case, there's more to this than what's out there for the public to see.

Don't know much about Sarr tbh, but I wouldn't want us to block Nelson off from a first team spot.

Only two players across Europe’s top five leagues have won 30+ tackles and completed 15+ dribbles:

To be fair we have zero wingers and at least a semi reliable options in Monreal/Kolasinac until summer.

Losing depth in mid-season is never ideal, but getting some money for Welbeck would be useful.
