Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Losing depth in mid-season is never ideal, but getting some money for Welbeck would be useful.

Arsenal are interested in 18-year-old Bahia midfielder Ramires, with the club having watched six of his games as they consider a move for him. [@Football_LDN via Paulo Vinicius Coelho] #afc pic.twitter.com/ufCccG6i49

Bahia will resist any moves for Ramires from rivals clubs in their domestic league, but may be willing to sanction a move to Europe, with Arsenal his “most likely destination”. [@Football_LDN via Paulo Vinicius Coelho] #afc pic.twitter.com/T1tLNMdI2L

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Anyway, according to BILD sources, while Ramsey has been offered to Bayern by his agent(as he has been to any top club duh), it nowhere near a 'done deal'.
It's just funny because in German football media, transfer rumours aren't quite such a prominent thing as in their English counterparts, so media competence is less developed too lol.
Reports in Germany often refer to and cite English reports, even complete trash papers like the Mail or the Mirror, or even SUn or Express, and in this case they make a point of underlining that the Independent is a 'serious' ("seriös", meaning competent, professional, to be taken seriously) newspaper.
While I want to scream at my screen "NOT IN FOOTBALL TRANSFER NEWS THEY AREN'T"

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Gibbs-White looks very good, but he does play in an area where we have our own talent (Smith Rowe and Nelson, especially).
If we want more English talent, the best place to look is the lower leagues. They provide a decent amount of talent to our youth teams and tend to be a little cheaper. And lower league players are more likely to step-up to a big English club, even if they don't get playing time.
Someone like Gibbs-White, who's starting to get PL minutes, will look at Sancho and Nelson in Germany and think that moving abroad will be a better move than moving to a top six bench.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
I wonder if Chelsea would let Hudson-Odoi leave for Arsenal? Has a similar contract situation to Sancho before he left for Dortmund and hasn't gotten any minutes at Chelsea.
Imagine having Nelson on the right and Hudson-Odoi on the left

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
In all seriousness, Hudson-Odoi looks an exciting player but I don't think his situation would improve much with us. He might get more cup minutes but he'll be looking for regular games. And it's going to be difficult for us to give Smith Rowe, Nkeitah and Nelson minutes as is without adding another teenager to the mix.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Ozil is proving unreliable for a player on £300k p/w. We made the right choice in keeping him last January (as in, we had no other choice but to keep him, because losing him and Sanchez in one window would have been very damaging), but he's picking up more injuries, missing games due to illnesses, and has recently been left out because games have been "too intense" for him. If that doesn't describe a luxury player, I don't know what will.
And I say that as someone who loves Ozil and think he's a great player. We're not going to find someone as good as he is (or can be) very easily on our budget. It's just that at the moment he's proving a bit difficult to fit in, in terms of what Emery wants from his players and what it means for the balance of the side. Same with Ramsey.
