Predict Arsenal's next coach
Re: Next Arsenal Manager Watch
Hella surprising out of nowhere this news came today
Like someone said, Arteta was just the smokescreen
At least, it is someone with managerial experience. The langauge barrier might indeed be a bit of problem, will be interesting to see how that goes.

Re: Next Arsenal Manager Watch
BUMP
First, to recap, it's indicative of @S 's knowledge and predictive powers that he had made a poll with 10 options yet the manager which was eventually hired wasn't even on his list.
Now that Emery has been sacked at last, the search for the next Arsenal manager continues
In the meantime, Freddy Ljungberg has taken on the interim role.
Does anyone have any insight into whether he is capable in any form? I don't think so and no it's not just because I hate him for reasons of female attention

Re: Next Arsenal Manager Watch
All we know of Ljungberg is that he won the title with the u23 team, all the youngsters who have come up recently (Nelson, Willock, Saka, Smith Rowe, etc.) respect him a great deal, and that he was mainly promoted to the first team set-up to help with the integration of said young players.
He's said to be very encouraging as a coach and likes his teams to be on the front foot. The club rates him highly and apparently he was decently liked at Wolfsburg when he was Andries Jonker's assistant for a little while.
So, impossible to say how he's going to fare in the PL, really. He's a young coach with a lot still to learn and experience.

Rookie temporary coaches ( I mean coaches from youth teams) never perform. Experience Is everything.
I know It Is typical for Premier League (not in Serie A , except for last matchdays.. Milan have sacked a provinciale/average coach for another one... Anything but not a rookie) but I am not convinced on it

Not too convinced either by Freddie but i hope he brings in the new manager bounce at least. Just want Arsenal to play their normal selves.

Re: Next Arsenal Manager Watch
Arsenal would be stupid to give Freddy the position permanently even if he does great-- agree with Robespiorre. They need Allegri to clean up this mess and sort out the defence.

not convinced with the "Allegri said no" reports. Let's hope it's a smokescreen for the dream come true

Re: Next Arsenal Manager Watch
From what i understand the guy on the right wants Ljungberg as interim + Allegri hired after the season. And the arguments make sense.
Idk what Max is doing these days, probably just living the dolce vita, and it fits the character to refuse an offer in the middle of a season. Approach him for an unofficial agreement then hire him next summer makes more sense. He can dictate which dead wood he wants gone, and it gives more time to develop his strategies and implement his mentality to the squad. Instead of needing results right now to appease the fans.

Don't think it'll be Poch. Not Allegri. Man's need to drop money for Rodgers tbh.

What does that even mean? If he wins every game from here to eternity, yeah, he might stay.

Re: Next Arsenal Manager Watch
if he gets us into the CL and we can't manage to get Max Allegri, then yea, why not give him the chance to continue. Who's out there that's that much more tremendously promising at the moment even? If he goes on to be another Ole and fails, we can easily replace him with someone that's available at that time.

It's only a matter of time before the reports of Ljunberg stealing the ball off Sokratis and Chambers in training and screaming "TAKE THE F*CKING BALL OFF ME THEN!" start coming out

Of course. It's the same with Flick. As long as he wins, he has the job. Football is very easy tbh.

Re: Next Arsenal Manager Watch
The noises coming from the club is that they'd be very happy to give it to Freddie if he proves to be a success. And you know fans love having an ex-player in charge, especially if he's a success.
I think the realistic among us know there's a good chance it won't work out that way, though.

As we are in a very similar situation (with the exception of course being that our interim has a vastly different standing in German football), I think it's important for the clubs to maintain the default stance that the interim only stays until summer, and THEN a decision is made.
Obviously, if the team shows amazing performances due to his work for the whole rest of the season, he should naturally be a top favourite in that decision, then. Why would you change a winning team at this point?
Still, he needs to prove it over a period of several months, not several weeks, before he can be considered.
What Man United did wrong was that they rushed to permanently appoint Ole in midseason at the moment he had good standing with the fans due that lucky and improbable PSG win, and then with that appointment threw out all their loudly proclaimed plans of a restructuring, DoF-appointing, etc.
Utd are run, like a Wall Street front would be, on appearances, PR, and consumer research, not on football expertise.

Seriously doubt Raul Sanllehi will allow Ljungberg to continue, he‘ll want a Spanish speaking person there.
