Ciro Immobile- Best Striker in Europe 2020 Edition
14 goals and 6 assists in 11 Serie A matches this season to lead Lazio for European contention.
Also added a couple goals in the Europa league and an assist in 3 appearances.
Highlights include retiring the Milan fan contingent that briefly appeared this summer like a flower blooms in the spring before dying in the winter.
-Demonstrated the Bonucci decline
-Beat Juventus in Torino
-Top scorer
-Most assists
-Hattrick against Milan
-Brace against Juve twice
-18 goals in 15 appearances this season after hitting 26 in 41 last season, he'll surely eclipse it

I agree with ES
Funny how his name suits him damn well in this regard... i used to rank Immobile in the B-/C+ grades, and despite the stats he still hasn't moved from there

Bidone is something I would call Pavoletti. You can't score as many goals as Immobile, including a capocannoniere season, and be bad. His return to Torino was really good, last season he was great, and this one he started looking amazing.
Won't call him one of the best until he sees out this season on a high note (if he does that).
What's for sure is that outperforming every other striker in Serie A is nothing to dismiss. Higuain, Icardi and Dzeko are the best in the league for now, but if he keeps outdoing them then he will have to be in that conversation.
Immobile always had top runs and instinct, along with being two footed and technical enough. His big problem was super poor finishing when not on a scoring run. His cold streaks would be way too cold.
If his finishing is as good as these 12 months or so suggest, then he is back on the track he was on as a kid to be a beast of a striker.

For me he is an emotive player , he's fine on an ultimate context, otherwise he is one of first players to fall. This explains also the difference between his performances with Italy and NT. He needs of many things to work around him for his expression . Carried by Lazio
if he was really so GOAT, noone 'd fear to be knocked out by freaking Sweden

Re: Ciro Immobile- Best Striker in Europe 2020 Edition
To be fair the fear of not qualifying to the WC has nothing to do with the lack of quality of the players. Its the lack of chemistry and working system between them. There are more than enough players on the squad who have nothing to prove in terms of skill, its just that nothing works atm. Can't fault Immobile (or Belotti) for that.
Immobile might actually miss the first game. He got an injury and now isn't called to Nice. Unsure if he will be called up for the weekend game too.

Sucks penisio every time i see him with the NT, frankly average in all possible aspects.
Lazio and him are the perfect fit and right now the whole squad has a performance boost, that's how i'd explain it. Lazio won't keep the pace for 38 games so i bet my shoes Immobile won't end up as capocannoniere.

Re: Ciro Immobile- Best Striker in Europe 2020 Edition
Like it or not, he's the most in-form striker in Italy and maybe Europe. He's on 14 goals in the league, had some great plays in that compilation, he was impressive against Juve.
Obviously he benefits from playing at Lazio and is not man-marked by 3 defenders each game and doesn't have to face parked buses like big teams face often.
Put him in Juve and he'd struggle. But he's a beast for counter-attacking football.

Immobile is the top scorer in the WC qualifying group. Ahead of Belotti and any Spanish striker.
I still prefer Belotti, Il Gallo>>>>>. But Immobile still got the goals in this WC cycle, can't fault him there.

Re: Ciro Immobile- Best Striker in Europe 2020 Edition
He's been directly involved in 20 of Lazio's 31 goals in Serie A this season
He does greatly benefit from Lazio's system which absolutely plays to his strengths
But how about some respect for someone with 14 league goals and 6 assists in 11 games, that's more than Dybala last season. 18 goals in 15 appearances, that's more than many of your favourite strikers do in a season. In fact, that would take the Milan strikers several seasons to hit.
We need to put some respect on his name because the numbers deserve it. No, he's not the best striker in Europe, not close but he's definitely the most in-form right now. The idea that no one mentions his name this season is a criminal act. He's playing the best of his life and he's scoring goals for fun.
Agreed. Surely, Belotti >
I think in Serie A it goes:
Higuain
Dzeko
Icardi
Belotti
Immobile

Well, if we count him I feel we also must count Insigne and Dybala and a more broader list but since he does line up as a #9 these days, I guess he should and he would slot in ahead of Belotti and Immobile

Because he has more goals than everyone else and outside of Madrid, the defining metric of strikers is still goals and not overall play

Disagree, the a lot of bad strikers that score tons of goals. Goals are the most important stat, not a defining metric.
