Guardiola: "Lahm is the best striker in europe"

A few days ago , Guardiola said about Lahm: "His play is incredible. If I would let him play as a striker, he would be the best striker in europe". Do you agree with him ? I don't think that Lahm's finish would be good enough to play upfront.

Lahm is just ridiculously intelligent tbh. The best German player by a mile.

I don't think that Pep was serious about that , just praising him .. you know

Off topic : I'm quite surprised by Pep using Lahm as a mid as he has so many others options. I was pretty curious to see how he was going to deal with so many midfielders in the team and bang ... he puts his best fullback there too.

Basically he doesn't have many options left...Martinez injured, Thiago injured, Gustavo sold...he could play Schweinsteiger Kroos Müller middlefield but i guess he wants Schweinsteiger to play more attacking than at the beginning of the season.

tbh we should just clone Lahm and play him everywhere, we would never lose.

This is kinda like when teammates claim that if Messi played CB, he'd be the best CB in the world. It's a statement about skill but not really meant to be taken literally.

This, although Lahm is unbelievably intelligent it wouldn't surprise me if he made a decent career out of being a striker if he started doing that 5 or 6 years ago.
