...Really? Just because of the fee? That's the only argument I can see...

Re: Transfer Window January 2018
Because I don't rate him as highly as others / see what the big fuss is about. You can check my previous posts about him.
What exactly has he done?
He's had ONE good season and he's been plagued with injuries since. (Which to be fair, he was actually really good in that one season.)
In that one good season he had Wanyama shielding him when he marauded forward, who's going to protect him here? Henderson?
How does his injury history and our lack of midfield to protect him merit anything over 70m+ for him? That's my concern.

Re: Transfer Window January 2018
Let's be honest, there isn't going to be any significant signings during this window. Who the hell is going to loose a key player in the middle of a season??? Whatever incoming have to be planned/scheduled for summer window.
We must utilize the time for a full-proof plan for the summer window so that things don't come unhinged like the last one.
We must utilize the winter window to dispatch the loads of deadwood we have and arrange useful loan deals for the likes of Woodburn, Ings, Ward.

Vvd isn't worth 70mil no matter what way you put it.
We need a proper DM as much as we need cb's.

75m for VvD. Accepted apparently. It's too much but since I've been on Klopp's back all the time. Ill support this.

His come for 75mil but I've already removed that from my head if he adds stability to our backline then his worth 200 mil.
Just need a proper DM now and a goalie but I doubt we'll get any

Re: Transfer Window January 2018
Well he wasn't my ideal signing but it is what it is..........
Signing shows intent beating the likes of Man City and co / spending big / addressing problems in the squad.
The summer will indicate if this was Coutinho money or not, let's hope it's not.
Let's just hope he's good as everyone hypes him up to be.
We got a decent spine now, I'm liking the fact that Klopp is arrogant in just signing starting XI quality players. Squad's starting to shape up.
We're also after another CB from Basel which would hopefully be the end of Lovren at Liverpool, and Leon Goretzka. Lemar still in our shortlist too it seems. Dream scenario would be signing those 3, getting rid of Lovren and keeping Coutinho, with Karius stepping up...

Re: Transfer Window January 2018
Coutinho is gone in the summer and it has no bearing on our signings since we were already on the trails of VVD, Naby etc.
I want the Coutinho money to be spent wisely in the summer. Another good (not great) CB, a great (Coutinho replacement) and a good (Emre replacement/upgrade) CM would make us strong title contenders.
The prospect of having Lovren, Klavan, Henderson and Wijnaldum as depth option is simply salivating.

No chance mate. Let's just hope Karius turns-up as good keeper and the new CBs and CMs does a better job.Unique wrote:the next on the list has to be a goal keeper. then a DM.

Re: Transfer Window January 2018
Karius is shit, that shouldn't be a debate any longer. The guy's 24 but plays with all the mental prowess of a 12-year-old.
That said, I'm not aware of many great goalkeeper talents out there, might be just better off sticking with Mignolet for now, lest we sign someone worse than him - again.

Re: Transfer Window January 2018
What's Karius done wrong this season though?
It's always one step forward 2 steps back with Simon... drop him and throw Karius in there to see how he goes with consistent playing time.
People seem to forget DDG wasn't very good in his first season and only settled half way through his second.... keepers take time to settle.

Loosing Coutinho middle of the season.
Missing out on Goretzka
Loosing Emre for nothing
Too many dark clouds for the silver lining that is Virgil van Dijk
Hope 2018 turns out better than it sounds.

He's been a lot better in the air this year.
Organizing the back comes with experience / more game time / more confidence after securing a first XI spot.
His distribution is fine.

I would be very very very shocked if we sell Coutinho in the winter. Maybe in the summer.
Goretzka's agent has come out and said the rumours to Bayern were false....... as of now. If that's just to get more money out of Bayern, well that remains to be seen
Unfortunately I think we'll lose Can too.
Happy new year mate, all the best

Re: Transfer Window January 2018
So over this Coutinho saga, can we *bleep* him off already. Is he even injured or is this another bullshit transfer window injury.
How are the vvd and cou situations the same, yet were on different sides of it and we're still the chumps in both deals.
Seriously cash only no add ons , wtf is this crap if FSG accept a deal with less than 130 mil cash there a bunch of fonies.
Get rid of him, bring in lemar, and give him six months to get used to the PL.
I hope the captain rumours to keep him were fake, what a *bleep* joke it would be to offer the guy captaincey. Shankley would be rolling in his grave right now if we offered it to him.
Off topic: haven't had time to comment for the past few games as I've been overseas, but we've been doing well, esp to win the last game with the team we've had and the situation we were in.

Re: Transfer Window January 2018
We should offer 40m+1 pound for Alexis Sanchez.
We need to hold on to Coutinho until the summer. He's key for both our PL and CL run, and if we go far enough our FA cup too. He's been brilliant under Klopp.
I don't think we're being chumps here. We're demanding 140m+ and looking to sell when we're ready (ie in the summer). We're not bending over Barcelona's attempts.
FSG have said they'll make no decision and let Klopp work it out. I trust Klopp entirely so I'm sure he'll only sell if it's guaranteed we get another player coming in or if we do sell it'll be for in the summer. But I think we'll wait until after the world cup to get a premium fee after he wins Brazil the world cup.
Off topic: Hope you're having a great time mate! Where'd you go? Also happy new year, wishing you all the best.

Barcelona are finalising a package in excess of €150 million for Philippe Coutinho, which would make him their record signing and the third most expensive player in the world. Seems to now be a matter of when not if a deal will be done...
Okay nevermind.
Brb suicide
I still don't believe FSG. Think they're at blame here. *bleep* them. *bleep* everyone. *bleep* Barcelona. Hope we knock them out after we knock out Porto.

On topic again, yeah he seems as good as gone. Honestly the worst timing for this shit, *bleep* these mid season transfer windows.
