Those last 15 minutes were absolutely shambolic defensively from Real. Betis could have scored 4, 5, they just marched through your whole defense without even being challenged, again and again

My goodness, that was so careless from Madrid. Like primary school careless. Betis did well to just wait and wait and wait and wait till Madrid got too tired to even defend and boom, strike first blood.

Zidane gets it right quite a bit but today, he got it incredibly wrong. In this league where it is won by the finest of margins, we just gave Barcelona and Atletico huge room for error.

Shambolic is a nice, calm word to use. I literally was cursing the screen wondering wtf is going on. There was one moment where Betis had a 4 v 1 with poor Varane trying to play an offside trap by himself.

You would swear this was a cup game where Madrid needed to score. A draw is not ideal but a loss is clearly worse. They, being who they are, chose the latter.

The subs were hilarious. That moment when there were 12 players on the field too because Modric didn't realize he had to come off. Then it got so messy after the subs that Vazquez went to Zidane to see where he was supposed to be and then went back to the field shouting orders to everyone. Laughing

I remember mentioning a "regression to the mean" a while back tbh.

Gonna keep mentioning it in reference to Madrid. Actually, there results will get better in time for the same reason in the context of the season so far. But this season as a whole I think I'll continue to expect an "underperforming" compared to previous seasons. The previous two seasons for Madrid have been marked by extreme success relative to their actual ability.
