Tough to judge our defence when it's not full strength, but Elneny is no centre back, and clearly Willock is far from ready for this level, especially in a holding midfield role.

Sevilla have shaded this. Look far more solid at the back and dangerous on the ball. N'Zonzi and Banega are running things.

Our best moments have come from pace. Chamberlain and Welbeck can beat players. Welbeck's end product has been terrible, though. Ozil can't really get into the game because Ramsey/Willock have been poor.

That was a meh performance. Reminds me of the 2015 Emirates Cup against Monaco. We came up against a good defence and struggled to find a way through.

That's pre-season out the way, then. My main concern at this point is the defence because it needs to tighten up. Even though we played a lot of kids and players out of position, I don't think Mustafi and Holding returning magically fixes everything.

Signing Yaya N'Zonzi would, though.

In all seriousness we don't have the depth at the back or in midfield to challenge next season. CB/CM needed.

N'Zonzi would be a great partner for both Ramsey and Xhaka from what I saw.

Doubt Sevilla want to sell him now though, so late into the transfer market.

£40m release clause, iirc. Don't know if N'Zonzi is looking to leave, though.

Being positive about things, I think some of the defensive issues might go away once the season starts. We tend to be gung-ho in the pre-season games and we've seen both wing backs and both CMs push on every time. In a proper game I like to think we'd be more cautious and organised. Look around pre-season and top teams are conceding left and right.

The bigger concern is depth in those areas. Do we have enough at the back to play three CBs all season? Numbers wise maybe, but Mert is retiring soon, Koscielny is getting injury prone, and Mustafi and Gabriel are rash. I'm seeing Elneny and Monreal playing there more often than they should be.

CM of course is an issue.

Beginning to feel Welbz is just a refined version of Sanogo. I know it's an unfair comparison but this is his 876th attempt to have a shot(scuffed shot) on goal, which turned out to be an assist.

Only Nelson and maybe Bielik are the only ones that are ready for the first team. If Mavididi can up his fitness, he may get a shot as well, based on his form on loan.

Bramall's time is fast running out. Though it can be an incredible story if he succeeds, he doesn't seem to be first team material.

We seem horribly under-prepared from the looks of it. I hope it is just coz of the experimentation. Honestly feeling we'll be thrashed in the Community Shield.

Our team is like this every damn pre season and get caned 1st month or so. Nothing is ready and the frustrating thing is Wengers could very well prepare better this time. Don't shuffle too much, build chemistry and play main guys. ffs our best defender was Chambers who might be sold soon.

I remember a few years ago, we had a spotless opening day record.

I believe it all went downhill after that 6-1 thrashing of Everton, on opening day.

After that we've been the laughing stock on opening days. Gervinho red card, Cech's gaffes and losing Villa at home of all people.

I hope it is at least less embarrassing this time.
