Explains the difference in ambition between these players tbh. It's a World Cup year and Welbeck/Walcott are fine with being squad players.

We need him because our best option on the right wing is Theo Walcott and we really can't have that.

The winger signing we're looking for is irrespective to what we do with Alexis, we need one addition there even if he stays and if we let him go then we need two wingers.

But obviously we need to let go of some attackers. It would be amazing if someone was actually interested in Walcott and Welbeck but no one is, so someone else has to go. Lucas Perez is the first name, but I would also sell Giroud to raise some funds for other positions.

That's just how it goes. Monaco moved the goalposts and short of offering north of £60m/£70m we're not going to be getting anywhere. Best to move on to someone else now instead of chasing a lost cause for the remainder of the summer.

We'll see if we move onto Mahrez now. I can see that one being a late transfer as Leicester will hold out as long as possible.

Jim White was talking about Chambers and Gibbs on Talk Sport. Not sure how reliable it is. WBA have had interest in Gibbs before at least.

The Chambers stuff surprises me. Thought he had a role to play in the squad. It'd be good work to get a profit on someone we didn't really invest much time into, though.
