Dante wrote:Asking me if i care what Diego Costa does at Milan when i have Bacca and Niang playing for my team ?? He can come and do everyone there for all i care and do all the Costa things he likes , i can take no more of Niang or Bacca things on the pitch. And although i am happy we got Andre Silva , he's not ready just yet.
Now as to what Chelsea did to replace Diego Costa , i personally think they chose well with Morata .
:DI thought Bacca have been pretty decent for Milan though... anyway, personally dont like Costa, but feel for him, I mean stuck with Chelsea unable to leave and legal battle and all, not good situation for anyone.
Hope Milan gets him then, and lets see how Morata does, pretty sure he would do better than Pedro Dont know why, Pedro being former Barca and all, but I just dont rate him much.

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
Don't get me wrong , i like Bacca and don't really have anything against him , it's just Montella doesn't want a poacher there , he really doesn't fit in our game at all. He was very good under Mihajlovic and even scored some important goals last season too here and there , but at the end of the day it simply doesn't work out with him and Montella . This was evident from last summer but it didn't happen then. It's for the best that he's leaving , for everyone , him most of all tbh.
Diego Costa would give us a big hand this season , but he doesn't want to join Milan anyway , i was just playing around earlier , personally he's not even my first choice for us anyway. Can't deny he would be really fun to have though lmao. He wants to go to Atletico and only there. Check out more if you like

Barca is buying Paulinho. The board are absolute idiots.
My preference is Eriksen. He's a far better player than Coutonho. He is probably the best midfielder in the Premier
2 assists again today. Is he going to lead assists for all players again?
For all players who play for Tottenham?
Or is he going to finish three behind De Bruyne like last season?

Pep was calling for it, and I agree.
It could screw the PL clubs over, though.

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
I think the transfer close before season starts is a logical thing, but then other leagues starts later than EPL, so it would probably mean EPL at a disadvantage when it comes to negotiating and buying players, when clubs of other leagues know you're on a deadline before theirs, they have more power knowing you're trying to push through deals to meet it. It would also mean EPL clubs with less flexibility if they want to buy someone after the first game starts and they find they need to further strengthen, etc. If so, I doubt they will vote for this to be approved.

Aye, managers in the PL have wanted it for years. It just disrupts things really and doesn't help at all.
There is the downside that it could hurt them other leagues but the upside is bigger than that imo.
Considering next season is a WC year it will be interesting though, i sense the mad rush already.

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
Not really for it. Since City aren't poverty club that is being muscled by Barcelona or other top clubs to sell their best players. But watching panic buys after a season opener loss or a bad start is interesting. And the drama of transfer deadline day will be sorely missed if the transfer window is shut earlier than other leagues.

The drama will still be there lol, it was just happen before the season starts.
Also considering next summer is world cup time, the rush to sign players will be quite funny.

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
I'm completely for ending the window before the season. It's always been stupid that there are games going on while players are still moving clubs and there's speculation everywhere. It's like the first three games don't really matter because 75% of the league haven't finished their business yet.
If nothing else, it forces Premier League clubs to actually be ready for the start of the season which from an Arsenal POV is only a good thing imo.

It will force us to sign 5m players before August instead of during it so it's good imo

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
Not mention also other leagues clubs can still buy EPL club players after its closed, which is also a big imbalance, so again I doubt it will go through, for it to work, pretty much all major leagues need to set a smiliar date so that everyone is even.

Fantastic analysis from Henry, he makes a solid point about 'looking pretty', which some modern football fans and pep-lites need to take into consideration

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
There is nothing ugly about that pass though. In fact I would argue Pep would be livid that, with the space Lacazette had there and the room in behind, and the fact that Lacazette was making the run, Ozil didn't make the pass.
Pep dislikes useless possession or "tiki take" as much as anyone else. His teams have always went for risky passes when it looked like it was on.

Not many team attack the channels quite like City does and you think Pep would be angry with such a pass?

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
In fairness to ES, he said Pep-Lites.
I think he means the people that have copied him since his Barca days and obsess over possession even more than he does rather than Pep himself.
I could be wrong though, because if there's one thing Pep can't be accused of it's not creating chances lol.

I think when it comes down to it, 99% of coaches when analyzing games look at that pass and think it should have been played forward regardless of the 'philosophy'.
Feel like it comes down to player decision making at the end of the day.
