F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer is reporting Japanese wrestling star Io Shirai has accepted an offer to join WWE.

Shirai is one of the top wrestlers in Japan’s Stardom promotion, and previously had a tryout with WWE back in March. There is currently no start date for Shirai; fellow Stardom competitor Kairi Hojo is also set to debut with WWE soon and should start at the WWE Performance Center soon.

Meltzer previously reported Shirai opted to stay in Japan after WWE showed interest in her last year, but appears to have changed her mind.

I don't like to pay attention to ratings but I should say I have zero interest in watching right now.

I think the most entertaining to me right is Alexa Bliss shutting down what chants lol.

Corbin isn't bad tbh hmm

He's had good matches with quite a lot of people now, he suffers from the Reigns syndrome in being meh on the mic and character wise that people think he sucks in the ring.

He really doesn't.

Orton has no business with the title, terrible feuds, bad mic skills, above average matches, atleast Jinder the jobber has an interesting character, but realistically Owens should drop the US title & get the WWE title.

Jinder Mahal is an okay Mid-card champion for a brief 2-3 month US title reign !

Nah, they didn't miss Cena when he was away last year.

But the whole show was good then with interesting storylines in pretty much every division.

The whole show is just terrible now, nothing to do with Cena and he wouldn't change much if the current direction persists.

To give you an idea how bad it is, I haven't watched the last 3 weeks except the odd Youtube clip and cancelled my network subscription lol.

SD with a 1.53 rating this week. The episode on the same week a year ago got a 1.62 rating, despite not being live. hmm

I think even if SD was better in terms of quality right now, the ratings would have eventually fallen at some point anyway. It just isn't sustainable imo.

Yet it was sustainable for 6 months when the shows were of a decent quality.

It only started to drop off when the show started to go to shit, it's just not interesting right now.

When I'm not watching you know it's bad, not that I care because unless something changes I'm not going to watch either show anyway.

Quality wise SD was fine, but knowing creatives track record I doubt they would have been able to keep it up. It's always been the B show in Vince's eyes imo. Can't see Jinder Mahal main eventing on RAW.

Smackdown started declining the moment the main event shifted from the likes of Ambrose, Cena, and AJ to the likes of Orton and Bray IMO.
