Mole you have a good point as I forget the emotional depth within the Tomb Raider reboot.

This is also a fine point as with Vikander it can set the tone for Croft if not further add dimension to which the character lacks. Similar to how I see Tom Hardy add his own approach with Sam Fisher in the Splinter Cell film.

There's also a point they could go in a completely different direction tbh.

Although I'd say Vikander's casting says that the film will probably more inspired than the recent games.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's lots of shots where they try to make you feel sympathy for Lara and tell a story of her maturing.

I imagine it will be an origin story focusing on her relationship with her father.

Don't know if that's what the game about. The fact that her father is Jimmy McNulty suggests that he'll have a substantial role. Also very young for a father.

That's exactly what the reboot was about lol.

If that's the story I think I know where this is going, origin story of she became a Croft with lots of emotional growth as she grows up around everything.

As like I said I wouldn't be said given this premise there might be a lot of scenes where you see moments where she struggles to deal with what's happening and they want viewers to sympathetic for her as a character.

We were talking about sex appeal. Who the hell was talking about acting capabilities.

We all know this movie is going to be shit regardless of who is cast. Even Cate Blanchett won't save it.

Just look at Assassins Creed. Fassbender craft was useless.

Same will go for Lara Croft.

Game movies need to die, period.

The bulk of games, I.E the general game play is what makes or breaks a game, but that same game play translates to nothing but filler on the big screen.

Game was trash, see no reason why the film will be any different.

Not even sure why they are making a film adaptation either tbh, only came out last year.

Why are legit actors taking these roles lol, surely they must know better.

They need to cast Nolan North as Drake, and because Uncharted is a gripping cinematic game anyway with GOAT settings, it has no reason to flop. Can be a trilogy too.
