Horrible bottle job from Monaco
Should've pasted City by 5-6 goals. That 5th goal might have just edged the tie in City's favour but this tie 100% not over yet.

Didn't expect Monaco to lose the way they did still think Monaco will take it. Monaco has home advantage now. 3-1 second leg.

I was quite surprised how they managed to play such high octane football for a fair proportion of the match but then when we lifted it another two levels they couldn't cope.
Should be fascinating to see a counter attacking team getting counter attacked in the return leg.
Sterling and Sane will murder them.

Re: UCL Last 16: Manchester City vs AS Monaco
Monaco should have been up like 5-2 before City's fightback. They had like 3 more clear chances on top of their goals and missed a penalty. Their bad finishing is the only reason this tie is alive, even with the horrible defending.

Re: UCL Last 16: Manchester City vs AS Monaco
What a crazy match City just killed them towards the end and credit to them after they gone down and with some luck they came back into it, but Monaco looks a side that just cant defend, is it cos of the all out attack imbalance? Making it two sides just focus on attacking and cant defend really, 5-3 in a CL knock out match, absolutely crazy
With all the talk about Aguero, I think hes proved himself in this game that if he works hard and he is still a class player of course and clinical goal scorer, if he works hard to play as the way Pep wants him to he can stay and be a key player still.
Some of the Monaco players really impressive, although some seems a bit overrated, but definitely young with potential.
I think overall Man C is the old self, with major weaknesses and were bit lucky in the end, but I think Pep and everyone deserves some credit for the way they came back.
Much looking forward to the second leg, will be interesting to see how Pep sets his team up away with a 2 goal cushion, I mean he doesnt know how to defend, but it may just be similar stuff And watch for Monaco even more attack minded, what another match that could be

Re: UCL Last 16: Manchester City vs AS Monaco
how did City kill them towards the end? they scored twice from corners with sloppy defending, scored a nothing goal due to a GK error..even after it was 5-3 Monaco had the better chances, as they had throughout the entire night. They were the better team, just their own errors cost them what should have been a comfortable win.
Fully backing Monaco to get the job done at home. No way they don't score another 3 at least

Re: UCL Last 16: Manchester City vs AS Monaco
Seeing that Monaco defense shit all over themselves in the final 20 or so minutes I dont have much faith in it standing firm in the next tie honestly. Thank f they have a lethal attack. Will be a ding gong battle (dem FM keywords lol) which could go either way I guess. I am predicting 3-2 in favor of Monaco and City edging 7-6 on aggregate.

This ''beetter team" bull shit needs to stop asap. Because even if Monaco created more chances they ended up having less goals and city with less chances made more. This only proves that city were more efficient Team and deserved to win.

Re: UCL Last 16: Manchester City vs AS Monaco
Monaco would be better served in their league pursuit if they're eliminated this early.
They have enough fire power to overwhelm Ligue 1 teams and even trouble elite sides, but yesterday made it obvious that they can't contain or press a good side into submission like they do every week in the league.
They're very thin midfield too. If Fabinho is restored to his right back position, they wouldn't even have a reliable player to form a 3 man midfield.

Best team I've seen live at the Etihad in pure time. Hopefully they can retain that nucleus of players and build on it. Mbappe is the absolute truth, a couple of levels above Martial. I love the way they play with reckless abandon and last night was one of the best experiences of emotions watching this great game I've had, certainly Champions League.
Completely beats the bus parking boredom we find so much in the Premier League.
Whatever happens they have a new fan. Way better than PSG and I hope they win Ligue 1.

Yeah, Mbappe was good, my goodness. I think he just ran out of gas, him and Silva. The latter had City players kicking air and tacking wind for about 60 minutes till he too ran out of steam. I don't our resident City fan Chemical for enjoying that match, I did too. Only started watching them sparingly since the start of the year. Would definitely put a more vested interest in them now.

If anything this proves how defending is NOT overrated. Monaco would have won this is they managed the game better after being ahead with 20 minutes to go. City would not have shipped 3 away goals if they could defend better.

Perspective, What both of us basically want is our team outscoring the other one whether its a 1-0 or a 5-2.

Nope. I'm not wishing for a 5-3 at home any time soon. Then you lose the away game 1-3 and you are out. Goals matter.

Re: UCL Last 16: Manchester City vs AS Monaco
No positives to take from the game for City IMO. They fluked a win and looked shocking everywhere on the pitch.
Monaco defeated themselves. Should have killed the game early. Subasic ffs.
Aguero was awful despite getting a couple goals. Killed almost every attack when he got the ball.
Also lol at Chemicalclown hyping up City by saying Monaco are much better than the PSG that just ruined Barca.
If City sneak through they're out regardless. Literally the weakest team in the competition. (Arsenal, Porto Leicester are basically out IMO.)
Got faith Monaco's attacking quality will get it done at home however.

Meh majority of the attacking based teams will have a weak defense, were as most defensive teams will have a weak offense, there aren't many teams that have a balance of both. You'll have to usually sacrifice one for the other.
