Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
The camp stuff sounds like a cool side quest indeed and it seems like R* put a lot of effort into details for this one so there's no way we won't love this game since the first one was so amazing...
I'm glad it's October this year and not the beginning of 2019.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
This easily has to be the most anticipated game of the year. I don't know a single person who owns a console, who doesn't intend on getting RDR2. Good riddance, to whoever has the balls to release their game during the same month

Honestly anyone who does is an absolute moron and deserves zero sympathy.

Do I need to have played the original RDR to play this? I was always interested in the first one but for some reason never got around to it.

You should even if you don't have to. It's an absolute must-play game

I probably won't though. Its not so much my type of game that I'll go back to play the old one if a new one is here.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Fair enough. You don't have to play the first game then because the stories won't be connected.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Rockstar seem to think the game is standalone in the sense that you don't need to play the original.
Obviously if you do though they'll be things which call back or you will have a stronger attachment to.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
They've said it's not necessary. I would recommend it though, since RDR is a masterpiece (that reason is stronger than the reason for understanding some of the pieces in RDR2 better...although that's a good reason to do so too)
Edit: didn't see prior response. Fair enough then :/

http://m.uk.ign.com/articles/2018/05/04/how-rockstar-is-making-its-open-worlds-even-better
More at the link but this part is amazing to me, it truly will be the most ambitious game they've made.
Rockstar has spent the last eight years building a world. Not generating one procedurally but crafting one by hand. Red Dead 2 embraces new technology to realise those core ideas in new ways – a more detailed, immersive, and interactive open world, where fun is every bit as important as fidelity. But this new world, unlike previous ones, hasn’t been made by a single Rockstar studio but all of them, functioning as a single team, working constantly, for the best part of a decade.
“We've done it out of necessity. It used to be that a 50-person team could make a game, and then it just got bigger and bigger and bigger,” Nelson tells me. Since work began on the project, Rockstar has gradually consolidated all of its studios into a single team spanning the globe. So whereas previously it shipped games made by Rockstar North or Rockstar San Diego, Red Dead 2 will be presented as a Rockstar Games Production. A global effort.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
It's too much for me imo
the hype is too real
need a break
Thankfully this short burst of info probably precedes a lack of information on RDR for another 3 months tbh

Shit out of luck tbh, this is the start of consistent info from now on till release if their past games are any indication.
I doubt they'll be more than 6 weeks of silence for now on.

Oh you're definitely right
which is exciting. But also tantalizing, in the bad sense. At least there won't be any more delays

inby flying horses with missiles
Either grind for 100 hours or buy a $50 Buffalo Bill (:
In all seriousness, a verified leak said Rockstar is working hard on a Battle Royal mode. A BR with horses, weapons and map of RDR has mad potential.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Speaking of online they mentioned in the single player how you bond with your horse and it improves over time ( gets less frightened during fire fights etc) and if it dies you have to start with a new horse.
I hope they don't do it online tbh, because if I spend two weeks bonding with my horse only for some 11 year old kid shoots it down when I'm not looking I'll not be held responsible for my actions.
I will hunt/stalk him down until he goes to his mum and asks her to sell his ps4.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Bonding with horse lmao
Just had a flashback to every country girl I've ever met that's way way too intimate with their horses.
Unless they make horses battlefield 1 level of stupidly invincible, there's no way that'll apply online.
Even if it does, i'm still not going to stop shooting my horse in the back of the head every time I want to get off it.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Stay tuned for more Red Dead Redemption 2 info next month including first details about the game’s special editions and more.
Yep, looks like steady stream of info this whole month of May, then a pause for E3, then gameplay trailers around July/August.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Yeah I don't mind it in single player because the only time I remember them dying in original Red Dead was when they fall off the side of cliffs.
But in online it will literally force me to bully people from ever playing the game again.
I would literally never leave people alone for the entirety of 8 hour night sessions.

I remember accidentally shooting mine on the head while trying to shoot a rabbit and having a couple eviscerated by cougars.

I kinda hope this is the case so I can go around sniping horses alone.

Lol they'll probably have your horse respawn at a horse hospital like they do with insurance companies and your car in GTA Online.
