I Saw the Devil (2010)

Was pretty good. Not better than the others I watched but was still a good film. Could have be better if it was a bit shorter. Acting was on point. Not surprised since it starred Min-sik Choi.

8/10

Denzel and Viola Davis coming for the Oscars this year. This looks amazing.

New World (2013)

Don't think Min-sik Choi ever appears in a bad Korean film.

Loved this one. Some fantastic acting and the final act of this film was insane. Had some really intense scenes.

8.3/10

Good. We haven't seen promise of a good best actor category thus far.

Keaton looked great in The Founder trailer also. But that was pushed back because he's obviously gonna get nominated for it.

why aren't you watching a bittersweet life before these ffs

but if you enjoyed that it's a good sign, I didn't think you would enjoy the more 'mob' type Korean movies, you might like Nameless Gangster: Rules of the time, A Dirty Carnival (feels more low budget but still very good), they're other very good organized crime movies. Nameless Gangster wasn't as good as New World but still pretty good. All fairly similar. Honestly I started watching these because I felt Hollywood hadn't been making top tier crime movies for a while and they didn't disappoint.

think my favorite korean movies in order would be

A Dirty Carnival
A Bittersweet Life
The Chaser
Train to Busan
The Yellow Sea
New World
I Saw The Devil
Nameless Gangster
Oldboy

will watch The Man From Nowhere this week

Lion King is being remade to live action by Jon Favreau. Can't wait ffs. Jungle Book was amazing. Add 3-4 years of technological devlopment and it's going to look amazing.
Consistently in my top 10 of all time. It's the movie that has the most special place in my heart. Can't wait.

I was about to press play on Bittersweet life but found out Min-sik Choi was in New World lol.

I don't mind mob/gangster films. Plot was too interesting to not watch it. Will watch the others now.

So far my ranking

Train to Busan
The man from nowhere
The Chaser
New World
Oldboy
I saw the Devil

Don't remember much of Infernal Affairs as I watched it a decade ago so can't rank that.

Time to make more of a fool out of my self.

As many of you know 28 days later is one of my favourite films of all time.

Today is the first time I found out that the main character is Cillian Murphy AKA the scarecrow...

RG watch Peaky Blinders.

Also watch Inception again. The movie gets better with every re-watch. And I'm sure you don't remember much of it.

Go on a Cillian Murphy marathon. Guy does some great underrated roles.

Sunshine is a very good space movie also. Captain America is in it as well.

A Bittersweet Life (2005)

The Movie House - Part 8 - Page 11 7wuXfar

That finale. Holy shit   Entire last act was phenomenal. One of those endings where you just stare at the screen as the credits roll.

Amazing film.

You've seen The Town?

I love both Heat and The Town. They are my go to crime films along with The Departed. But if I had to choose between the two, I would go with The Town.

The Town - 8.9
Heat - 8.5
The Departed - 8.5

I've seen The Departed years back. Maybe a rewatch is required. The Town is on the list since Batfleck is in it.

It's a classic. Hasn't really aged that well though. More iconic than great. Bit like Dragon Ball

Without Ghost In The Shell we wouldn't have The Matrix. Its one of the most influential sci fi movies out there.

Anyone seen Elite Squad? Brazilian film with main man Wagner Moura as the lead. Its really highly rated and was very popular is Brazil. There's a sequel too.
