2016 Oscar eligible movies

Most films nominated for Oscar don't get released her until late Jan. Some come out in late march

For Oscar season we still have to see

Silence
Hacksaw Ridge (except Freeze)
Rogue One
Moonlight (except M99)
Toni Erdmann
Aquarius
Live By Night (have a feeling this will flop)
La La Land
Jackie
Loving
Fences
Manchester By the Sea

and apparently
Hidden Figures, and
20th Century Women
might make late pushes as well because all-female (black) casts. #equality #OscarsPlsDontBeSoWhite

Speaking of foreign films, just watched last year's Mustang. It was great. I loved the final act. Brilliant cinematograhpy. The shots at the end has put Istanbul onto the list of cities I want to visit before I die.
4.5/5

Never got to see it while it ran. It sold really well for us though.

Aquarius or Mustang hmm

Nah. Just can't get myself to watch subtitled films when I'm doing exams.

They're actually showing Train To Busan at work. First time they've shown a horror film in the year I've been there

Watched Se7en, little bit underwhelmed tbh. Maybe because I expected too much, maybe need to watch one more time but for now it was ok for me.

Also watched Creed, second best movie in franchise ofcourse after the first one. legit got eyes moist when Balboa gives Creed the shorts that he and Apollo wore, blamed it on mum cutting onion in other room. (Proud)
Last fight was something else, that Conlan entry is best one I have ever seen, even better than Nakamura Imo.

So Deadpool is basically The Martian of last year. In this case though, it's not that far-fetched to me. Comedy is the biggest aim and aspect in Deadpool if you ask me.

The Globes aren't really that much of an indicator of what will happen when the Oscars come around. Still though biggest surprise is no noms for Silence. But it's good to see Viggo and Sing Street there.

Pretty sure Silence missed the deadline. It should be eligible for Oscars.

Fully deserved. The Nice Guys should be in there. But no reason to nominate it, when they've already gotten Gosling to come to the party by nominating La La Land.
