The Chaser (2008)
This film felt like it was directed by Fincher. Probably the best way to put it. The direction was amazing.
Film had me hooked throughout. A really good suspense/thriller with a fantastic main lead.
I don't know how i feel about the ending. Honestly wasn't expecting that but you can only accept it. Part of me wanted a different ending but that would have been a betrayal to the film's tone.
This was actually better made than oldboy. They are both as good as each other overall.

Reading he's only being used as a framing device. If anything that's an interesting way to make a prequel.

ES good call on Hans Landa.
Calvin Candie was amazing but I don't think he belongs in this particular group.
Landa has a case I would say.
Another one who hasn't been mentioned yet is Bill 'The Butcher' Cutting.

Isn't it like a poor version of Danzel Washington films?

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
I still contend the entire concept of John Wick was silly, but it was still super entertaining. I really didn't like it on first look, but enjoyed it on the next view after letting go of how ridiculous the plot was. Now I can watch the sequel without the same issues.

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
I treat it as almost a comic book type movie, it kinda came off that way with how it was building it's own mythology, sequel has a lot of potential. It was just a slick action movie. Great choregraphy. Really enjoyable movie. Wasn't like it was trying to be some super gritty crime movie.
Enjoyed it a lot more than that Denzel movie that followed called The Equalizer, which wasn't bad itself and was similar.

I thought the equalizer was terrible tbh
Cringeworthy plotline. That being said, I always enjoy Denzel and watching Denzel fk up random mofos is pretty dope

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
Man of Fire is awful. Really don't like that movie at all. It's so sloppy technically that I can't enjoy it. Nearly got an epileptic seizure while watching.
John Wick is amazing though, you can actually see the action in it. Unheard of in 21st century action movies from America.

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
Think I just watched a highly superior version of The Man on Fire.
The Man From Nowhere (2010)
What a film
Great main lead. Great action. Great direction. Great acting all round.
These Korean films are amazing

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
haven't watched man from nowhere yet, one of the few still need to get around to, have it and hear it's great
I saw The Devil, a Bittersweet Life are both amazing too
then slightly below those you have The Yellow Sea, A Dirty Carnival (might be my favorite tbh, but not sure you would like it, doesn't feel like a blockbuster like the others but it's a great crime drama) and various other Crime Dramas that probably won't be as good as the others to you, but definitely watch the first two

Man on fire really hits the feels for me. I understand where Freeza's coming from though. It can be a tough to watch given how it's filmed.

I Saw the Devil (2010)
Was pretty good. Not better than the others I watched but was still a good film. Could have be better if it was a bit shorter. Acting was on point. Not surprised since it starred Min-sik Choi.
