Personally I'd look to Franck Kessié before Dahoud anyway. Guy looks dynamite from what I've seen.

Still at Porto, and why wouldn't he be since he's still only 19

Another player I'd be chasing as Liverpool. Dahoud has a bigger profile and more attention right now than both Neves and Kessié. Both of them are similar level of talent and we probably have a better chance of getting them.
But alas the mercato is over. I think Liverpool can challenge for 4th this season. I thought maybe even 3rd, but seeing the start there's still the typical signs of struggle against teams that bunker up. Not that I think that's impossible to overcome, and their approach against 'big' teams is very good (dominated Arsenal and Spurs in very tough away matches). It'll be interesting to see how Mourinho and Conte approach us this year as they're both managers capable of playing negative football to get the win, and they have much more talent than other teams at their disposal.
Hopefully Milner acclimates to leftback and Can really grows into the DM role this year and irons out his inconsistencies. It'd be nice to win a trophy whether it's the FA cup or COC.

I might lay down a long termer in the betting thread that says this time next season none of the top teams will be in for Dahoud

Obviously that's perfectly possible. He mght play a weaker season than his breakout one, which is very normal with such young players. Weigl might play a weaker season too, like Dahoud, he's not starting at the moment either for example.

Manchester City will contest the Football Association's charge of violent conduct against Sergio Aguero.

First of all Dahoud is NOT that big of a name and then:
-Barca and Atleti are banned in the transfer window.
-Bayern just signed Sanches for crazy money and he's already got plenty to compete against. Doesn't make sense to bring another kid in to the mix.
-Madrid have Kroos, Modric, and Kovacic who all play his best position and Modric/Kovacic bring the exact same thing he does to the team.
-United just got Pogba, Mou will not play anybody else but a battering DM or some sort of physical player (i.e. Fellaini) next to Pogba.
-City and Pep are going to be all over Weigl because that's who Pep is lacking in his current team not someone like Dahoud. Gundogan and Fernandinho can bring similar things to team.
-PSG have Verratti, they will building around him. No room to shoehorn someone like Dahoud next to him. Krychowiak has just been signed to be the destroyer so Verratti can do his thing. Motta, Matuidi, and Rabiot are all still there.
-Juve just signed Pjanic who is a bigger name and plays the exact same role. And they are already stacked with talented players here.
-Arsenal just signed Xhaka to be the controller. Arsenal ain't signing anyone else for another 10 years
Dortmund are a real legit challenge to get him. They will most likely be all over him. Hopefully us showing interest this window pays some dividends.
1. Who knows what club will need/look for what next summer or the summer after
2. Gladbach is already a CL club.
Unless Liverpool make top 4 there's no reason for a player like Dahoud to join a club like Liverpool, just for the sake of transfering. he might as well stay at Gladbach for another year or two and see if he can make a bigger step up then.
CL club
Dahoud wanted to come badly to Liverpool this summer after we finished 8th. BMG just wouldn't sell.
He will come if we want him. BMG would probably prefer selling to us than to Dortmund.

That is an incredibly strong team for crying out loud! How many Chelsea players would get into their first XI? How many United players?
Again, if they get lucky with the injury bug like Leicester did last season then they'll be hard to stop once they get going.

Dont think Milner is put there long term either. Genuinely believe Klopp has a plan and thats why he didnt push for a full back, and that plan just might be that youngster Joe Gomes or some other academy graduate. Playing a right footed, primarily CM Milner at LB wont be a good idea at all. Will be livid if something like that happens at United. If Moreno is prone to blunders, then Milner could just easily be too as he is not primarily a defensive minded player in the first place and can get caught out of position costing you vital goals as well (like in the Spurs game).
