#Big17 No safety - Alex Iwobi
I was a non-believe once but perhaps now I am one of his biggest fans.
Guy is such a talent.

Re: #Big17 No safety - Alex Iwobi
Needs to do more defensively maybe it's because he used to be a striker but he left Monreal exposed all game against Di Maria and Aurier. He did the same thing against against Liverpool. Hope someone will talk to him about this

They won 3-1.
Also apparently the ref blew his whistle just before he did that so it wasn't in open play unfortunately. Still pretty cool though.

Was awarded Young African Player of the Year. Impressive stuff for a guy who only became an African player a year ago.

looooool. Surprised it didn't go to Iheanacho.
But Iwobi deserves it somewhat.

Re: #Big17 No safety - Alex Iwobi
“That’s what we forget,” noted Wenger. “The trick about him is that you forget how old he is when you seem him play. You never imagine that he’s 20 years old.
“I believe as well, looking back where he was one-and-a-half years ago and where he is today, what is very interesting with Alex Iwobi is that he is consistently moving upwards.
*“He can provide, he can get into positions between the lines, he turns very quickly and can drive the game forward. He has very fast decision-making and you always feel that he can accelerate the process whenever he gets the ball. That is a very interesting quality. He has a huge availability. He passes and moves and always wants the ball.*
“He had a little dip this year that was more physical, but his passion for the game, his love for football gives me a very strong basis to continue to develop him. I think we’ll see much more from him.”

Has absolutely no business starting for a club as big as Arsenal.
Is not a 'great talent' by any stretch.

You're wrong about the second part. He has already proved that he is a great talent, but performances like these are expected from youngsters (especially when they play out of position).

So has this young lad progressed at all or is he as good as when I first saw him the beginning of last season? (was that when I saw him?)

Still the same.
A bit worried he isn't progressing, and will just be another Theo and Ox.

Re: #Big17 No safety - Alex Iwobi
I think he is doing better than the 2nd half of last season. His problem is final third. He gets nervous before the goal despite having a great shooting technique. And his final pass is always full of anxiety. He is a good player but probably needs a better manager to develop under.

He's got a better mind and more skill than both. I wouldn't be worried about him like those two

Re: #Big17 No safety - Alex Iwobi
Mixed feeling with him really. On one hand Iwobi was one of the few academy players who kinda made it this far. Played his heart out and really should have been sold after Mkhitaryan and Ozil. But then the money is really good.
Good luck to him.
Good luck to him.
