I mean..... Nobody wants to take in those refugees so....
Pretty much.
The western media is in meltdown because Turkey isn't a pushover like all the pathetic other muslim countries and won't take any shit from anyone. The Kurds tried to literally overthrow Erdogan and his OWN PEOPLE protected him. Finally a muslim leader that doesn't just kiss Europe's and USA's ass.
Good for Erdogan tbh.
Sorry what??

Re: Turkey and Erdogan Watch
Well honestly Turkey is never been a democracy, not even before Erdogan
Before they 've had the military ,they've voted just in 90 or 91 ? .
Nonetheless, there is a Turkey that goes from Ataturk to early 2000s that, with its contradictions, brought elements of (dare I say) modernity.
Erdogan has accentuated authoritarian features through a Islamist drift.

I'm not supporting Erdogan but a wise dictator is better than a democracy run by people like Trump. I believe that wholeheartedly.
People immidiately have bad connotations with the word 'dictator' and they not necessarily shouldn't. For example here, in Poland, people look back fondly at the times when were under the rule of 'dictator' Pilsudski (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Józef_Piłsudski). A lot of Poles consider him the founder of modern, independent Poland. He believed in democracy but mostly ruled himself and was sort of a king.
America tried to make peace in the middle east using the same measures so I'd hold back with the criticism. Does Merkel want 3mil refugees? Don't think so.

What's the relationship and history between Turkey and Pakistan? I saw hashtag Turkeyisnotalone trending last night on twitter and it was all about some brotherhoodly relationship between Turkey and Pakistan.

I'm under no illusions as to who the Kurds are and what they've done to survive as long as they have. Our media hope and pray that people like me won't second guess their reporting. Well I do.
That said, they were our allies and that means something to those of us here who are appalled at what Trump did. Many of us believe that when we ally ourselves with a country, we're obligated to help them when they need and ask for it, not abandon them at the first politically expedient opportunity to do so, no matter who they are or what they've done. We don't have a sterling reputation in this department, but until recently it was nowhere near as bad as it likely is now.
Conditions were set for us to ally with the Kurds and and in order for that alliance to have come to a mutually beneficial end, conditions should've been set for that as well. Trump simply blew it up on a whim. As such, our allies will likely be our enemies the next time we decide to stick our noses into this portion of the Middle East. Because the Kurds will do exactly what they have to do to survive, even if that means working with far worse people than Erdogan and Trump....

What's Trump if not a dictator? He seems to do whatever he wants under a thin blanket of "democracy."
You can kill people and start wars if your first tell them you're providing them freedom? Alright.

Re: Turkey and Erdogan Watch
Trump is not a dictator. His policies are dogmatic and dictatorial in tone, but he's far from a dictator. If he truly wanted to be one, he'd have overthrown or dissolved Congress after the Democrats won back the House last year. If anything, I classify him as a plutocrat with autocratic tendencies.
That said.....should he lose the 2020 election, how he reacts to that could move him firmly out where I placed him and into the realm of a dictator. If he rigs this election or refuses to except the results and advocates for a violent method in order to maintain his power and legitimacy, that would potentially make him a dictator.
Our country prides itself on tradition however. The Secret Service and the rank and file of the FBI are career professionals, not politicians. Should he refuse to leave the White House after losing, it will be fully expected that members of those agencies would likely force him out....physically, if needed.

Turkey raised voice in favor of pakistan in Kashmir issue . It is ironic that Pakistan wanted Indian curfew on internet to be lifted in Kashmir while they are openly supporting Kurdish Genocide. The talks of them being global voice for Muslims is all a sham considering their support for Turkey in eliminating kurds, Support for Soudi bombing against Yemen and support for China against the concentration camps for Uighur Muslims.

Agent Trump allows Putin to send Russian forces in, take over the territory. Big win for Putin.

^ You're having a sounding like a TDS-inspected NPC.
Trump has been responsible for a significantly fewer number of international human suffering so far than the last two "mature" and "adult" US presidents.
Dyuba with his biggest lie of the century to start all this mess in 2003 which to this day is burning the Middle East.
and Obama with his destruction of Libya which turned the country into a Jihdist hot-bed and a slave trade market and caused the biggest refugee/migrant crisis since WWII, and arming extremist groups in Syria to topple the gov't (the same mofos that US media used to call FSA (Free Syrian Army) and Moderate Turkish Backed Rebels, they are now calling genocidal jihdaists because now they are killing Kurds instead of Syrian army members)
Plenty of time for Trump to up his kill/international disaster count, but so far, he's far below Bush and Obama.

Russian forces? IT'S SYRIAN forces. Hell, Russia actually sold S-400 system to Turkey just 2 months ago....what makes you think they wanna go to war with them? Plus, if Russia fires on Turkey, it means it's attacked a NATO member, triggering article 5 and a potential WWIII if NATO actually does what apparently it's supposed to do.
As I posted in the other thread, they'd just play the mediator and sort out a deal with all involved. But I wonder if Erdogan may get too greedy, we'll see.
You do know there is no such country as "Kurdistan"?
It's S-Y-R-I-A. Turkey invaded Syrian borders and Kurds seek help of Syrian government to deter Turkish aggression.

....and Assad to protect the land of our enemy? Anyone who wants to assist Syria in protecting the Kurds is good with me, whether it is Russia, China, or Napoleon Bonaparte. I hope they all do great, we are 7,000 miles away!
