If Lacazette, Mustafi, and Xhaka were our big first team signings for the summer, and we didn't even get a wide player a la Mahrez, I'd be fairly satisfied with that revitalizing haul down the spine of the team.

None of these guys is a Pogba or a Higuain, but all of them are good, and all of them are at an age where they balance well between experience and potential--on the cusp of their primes. Coming the PL, playing with the likes of Mesut and Alexis and Cazorla, could turn out really well for Arsenal and for them.

Either would be acceptable. Point is, if we're not after Mahrez or a high profile winger (our pursuit of Mkhitaryan suggests we are) then we should splurge more on a striker. If we do get a marquee winger then it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to save money and get a less high profile striker to compete with Giroud.
