WhoScored base everything off statistics. So Holding might have a low tackle success rate and pass completion. But then you remember he was playing for Bolton who sucked hard last year. Something like "likes to play ball off the ground" would have been dictated by the manager's instructions, as well.

Gabriel was brought on the strength of his statistics and we've all seen how well that turned out.

Nothing against Icardi, who despite some apparent personality red flags looks like a talent, plus he's Inter's captain. He could be a really good capture. But personally I'd take Bacca if I had to pull the trigger right now.

He'd be cheaper, he has solid goalscoring experience in several European leagues, and due to his age he's a shorter term option ... which is neither good nor bad in itself, but might provide some wiggle room for restructuring the squad in future transfer windows, when younger & better strikers become available.

Mauro Icardi is hot property right now. Wanda Nara (wife and agent of Inter’s captain) was in London today alongside her collaborators for a meeting with Arsenal. The meeting served to introduce each other, and to evaluate the situation together. The player would fancy a move to London but it’s in Inter’s hands to decide how to react to a probably offer from the Gunners. Inter has always retained publically that the player is not for sale, displaying how central Icardi is to their project.

The people at the head of this club have no *bleep* balls man, this one time we can afford to take a risk in one of these expensive strikers but they just won't do it. These cowards would rather start the season with Giroud and Asano than take a risk on Lacazette/Icardi/Lukaku.

Unfortunately for you, buying Lacazette/Icardi/Lukaku can't be named a risk when you put it near the idea of trying again with Giroud. Giroud 2nd name is "Risk", but that's another story.

Unfortunately the people on charge of this club view these things in a different way. Why spend £60m on Lukaku when you can reach the top 4 without him? There in lies the problem.

It's a very old problem which seems improbable to go away in the next period. So isn't Wenger the problem? It's someone else from the club?

I mean, the guy is there since 96. In this kind of cases, usually the managers have total control regarding transfers.
