We don't. We have Badstuber, Hummels, Boateng, and Martinez as CBs.
The problem with the first name is explained with a passing glance at the number of games he's played in the last 3 seasons.
Hummels is injury prone, Boateng injured at the moment. Martinez is not a natural CB and has a wrecked knee too.

Not quite sure why Benatia was allowed to leave, it's clear we need another CB.

Koulibaly seems to be a candidate, however I doubt whether we#d spent another 45m € on top of thealmost 40 we spent for Hummels.
So maybe slighty cheaper alternatives like Koscielny on his last year of contract might be preferable.

Icardi's actually quite an intelligent passer of the ball and he's got a good first touch, the problem is that he so very rarely gets the ball to show off these abilities. Given the right circumstances though I think he could truly become a complete forward, in a similar vein to the growth of Higuain's general play when he became the focal point at Napoli.

But why doesn't Arsenal make public how long the contracts of their players are? Even the official confirmation on the website doesn't say.
Kind of strange, in Germany at least it always says "signs unti 30.6.20..." or something like that).

Why is this made a secret? Is it like injury absence times, only inverse? "Koscielny has signed a LONG-TERM CONTRACT.. oops his contract expires and we didn't renew"?

FWIW transfermarkt.de has his contract running until 2017.

I don't believe the rumour to be substantial either, what I do believe however is that if we are looking for a CB (and we are), Koscielny is somewhere at the top of our list. That's a no brainer.
