Pre-Season 16/17

Wenger said in his presser today that he likes the option of having Walcott or Alexis up front, and hinted he was going to choose one of them to play as a 9 at the start of the season.

I suppose if we had Ox and Campbell on the wings then Alexis as a 9 would be a decent experiment. If Walcott ends up being one of the wingers then no thanks.

Walcott needs to be an impact sub for now. Iwobi, Oxlade and Campbell all performed better than him in all our pre-season matches on the wing. But unfortunately Arsene loves Theo a bit too much.

Knowing Sanchez he probably is raring to go but we'll have to see how he is tomorrow.

I think Gabriel - Holding is better. Gabriel is guaranteed to start, if fit.

Seeing Gabriel fail to pass the ball straight to a teammate is a bit concerning

Both Gabriel and Holding are not very comfortable with the ball at their feet. I know City are pressing hard but Gabriel should do better with the ball. In midfield we still miss Santi when he is not playing, our build up from the back is too predictable when he isn't there. Overall a decent showing, we created some chances but no one knows how to put the ball in the back of the net

That was awful

The only good thing about that half was our pressing forcing mistakes in City's backline and the subsequent chances from that, which should have been taken.

Apart from that, our use of the ball hasn't been good, City have dominated the ball and Holding/Gabriel have really struggled.

Watching us play out from the back is hilarious. Neither centre back look comfortable. Xhaka is moving to take a marker away while Coquelin is just standing around doing nothing.

Only a friendly but we're a week away from the start of the season and against the first remotely decent team we've played against we've looked crap. Bare in mind City are playing Fernando and Kolarov as centre backs and they haven't been troubled at all.

How can Sanchez and Ramsey look sharper than Gabriel

Coquelin should not be starting.

Good finish, big 45 no safety is probably one of the best finishers at the club. When you look at his goals, the guy is a decent finisher
