Re: The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
We're set to bid a record 60m pounds for Koulibaly.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/08/17/chelsea-swoop-for-napoli-defender-kalidou-koulibaly-in-club-reco/
I can't see Napoli rejecting this.

Re: The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
The mirror are reporting that We're ready to bid 22m pounds for Ricardo Rodriguez, who wants to leave Wolfsburg.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-eye-22million-move-wolfsburgs-8658312
While, Zagreb's manager has said that Eduardo will join us after the 24th of this month:
Elsewhere, Cuadrado is getting closer to Juve, I expect the deal will be done soon:
So if these all turn out to be true, our squad will be shaping up. Only thing remaining would be to sign a CB (Koulibaly rumours are mixed at present) and maybe a CF (not Lukaku).

http://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/chelsea-set-sign-eduardo-claims-dinamo-zagreb-boss?"Eduardo has got the big honour to go to a big club such as Chelsea. I think he is leaving for Stamford Bridge after the Salzburg game."
Elsewhere, Cuadrado is getting closer to Juve, I expect the deal will be done soon:
http://sportwitness.co.uk/chelsea-transfer-practically-done-club-ceo-openly-discusses-deal/Marotta wrote:"[Juan] Cuadrado is a player welcomed for various reasons. With us, he behaved well, our experience with him was extremely positive. It’s a question that will be resolved in the next couple of days max. For now, he’s at Chelsea. If the club is open to it, well, we’ll start talking. A loan? I’d say yes, we’ll see."

Sack Emelano please.
Looks like we are bidding for Romagnoli,we clearly didn't learn from last years mistakes with John Stones lol.

Re: The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Romagnoli won't be allowed to join us.
Maksimovic apparently only wants Napoli, and Torino do not want to sell.
Koulibaly set to stay at Napoli.
Mustafi set to stay at Valencia.
Football Italia reporting we're watching De Vrij to see if he is fit enough to play twice in a week.
Lamine Kone still available.
Watch us sign Lamine Kone for 25m after De Vrij rejects us

Re: The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Summer 2015 all over again. Spend 95% of the available time chasing unattainable player with astronomical pricetag we never had any intention of meeting, resign self to reality and move on too late to make move for anybody else anywhere near good enough, then head into season with inadequate side lacking quality in key area (before invariably finding the manager at fault for the team's subpar performances). The reputed 'Einstein definition of insanity' comes to mind (as it all too frequently does with this board).

Agreed, it is downright embarrassing.

Re: The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
So we've got 8 days left in the transfer market, and still need 2-3 signings.
Eduardo is likely joining to be 3rd choice GK, so our squad is shaping up like this:
GKs: Courtois, Begovic, Eduardo
DEFs: Ivanovic, Aina, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Terry, Zouma*
CMs: Kante, Matic, Fabregas, Chalobah, Oscar, Loftus-Cheek +/- Mikel, Van Ginkel
Wing: Hazard, Willian, Pedro, Moses
CFs: Costa, Batshuayi, Remy**
*Zouma is still injured and likely won't be match fit until the new year.
**Remy will probably stay unless we sign another CF.
Mikel's future is up in the air and with Van Ginkel remaining with the team until Jan, he could be included in the first team.
I can see us signing either De Vrij or Kone next Tuesday and spending deadline day failing to sign a LB.

Re: The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Already made the point in an extensive post some time ago, but once again I'll reiterate, this is absolutely a fork in the road, make or break, do or die situation right now. United and City are building phenomenal sides overseen by their two new world class managers, and failure to mirror that ourselves here and now could leave us in their dust for years and years to come. Throw down these arbitrary, aimless lines in the sand (when did we get so moralistic about fees anyway?), put up the money necessary to bring in the players we need (provided it's not already too late), and secure our place alongside the suspects who are certain to be setting the pace for the foreseeable future.

Re: The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
I somewhat agree.
I think we can make top 4 this season with only 1 defensive signing. I don't expect anymore from us this season, next season we should be aiming for the top, so the next 2 (not including this transfer window) windows are going to be as important as this one.
We're building a great side, it's just a bit thin and needs defenders but in a season or two, we'll certainly be competing with the two Manchester clubs.

Re: The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Our saving grace may be that aside from those two, no one else we're competing with has done all that well either in the way of reinforcement. Arsenal is lol as usual, Liverpool has been underwhelming as well, etc. Barring some spectacular seasons from several of them, we really should be expecting ourselves, huge improvements or not, to make Top 4.

Re: The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
GdS are reporting that we've offered 47.5m pounds + 2.5m pounds in bonuses for Koulibaly. Who have agreed to sign Mangala on loan and are closing in on Maksimovic, so maybe this deal could happen.
We're also set to up our bid for Romangoli despite him being unsellable

Emanelo: That was our final bid for Koulibaly, Napoli.
Napoli: Ok, stop bother us, we don't want to sell him.
Emanelo: how about 47.5 plus 2.5m in bonuses?
Napoli: I thought you said?.......
Emanelo: So, deal?
Napoli: No.
Marina: Milan, We want Romangoli, how does 25m Euros sound?
Milan: He is not for sale.
Marina: how about 35m Euros?

Re: The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
The Telegraph are reporting we want 3 players before the end of the window.
A CB, FB and a CM.
Still chasing Romagnoli and Koulibaly.
Rodriguez or Litch for FB and Nainggolan for CM.

Re: The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Eduardo has officially joined us, most likely to be our third choice GK.
http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2016/08/eduardo-transfer-completed.html
Meanwhile:
So Thats, Roma out, he joins Manolas and Rudiger in our failed transfer pile.
We still have a slim hope of signing Koulibaly or Maksimovic, but at this point, I think we'll sign Kone on deadline day

Meanwhile:
#ACMilan has received a significant offer for its player Alessio Romagnoli from @ChelseaFC, but the player is not for sale.

Telegraph reporting it, too.
We've offered 20m Euros, Fiorentina want 25m Euros.
I imagine we'll get this done soon.
