The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
It's May now, the season is almost over and Bayern just bought Hummels.
So I'm starting this thread a little differently; Roman, Emanelo, Antonio, Guus, Marina, anyone, Please get Benatia from Bayern, he won't be expensive, and will solve a big issue for us. Plus he is in his prime so he won't stop Christensen from being integrated next season.

Roma turn down Chelsea’s £23m bid for Radja Nainggolan

I believe this. I also believe we'll be back with a higher offer sooner rather than later.

Roma have rejected Chelsea’s bid of £23m plus performance-related bonuses for the midfielder Radja Nainggolan. Antonio Conte has made the 28-year-old Belgium international his top priority this summer but Roma are reluctant to lose one of their best players.
The Roma president, James Pallotta, wants at least £32m for Nainggolan but said this week that most of all he would like to keep both the Belgian and Roma’s other in-demand midfielder, Miralem Pjanic.
“I have already said that we will not sell Pjanic and Nainggolan,” Pallotta told Gazzetta dello Sport after the 3-0 win against Chievo at the weekend. “I would like to see them continue playing for Roma.”
Conte is also keen to explore the possibility of bringing the Roma centre-back Kostas Manolas to Stamford Bridge. The Greek international, whose contract has three years to run, was close to joining Chelsea in 2015 but Roma pulled out of the deal as they could not find a replacement for him.
I believe this. I also believe we'll be back with a higher offer sooner rather than later.

We paid 30m € for Benatia so what makes you think he won't be expensive? We'll want similar money.

Re: The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
€30m is only £23m, and I think we could get him for a little less considering he hasn't been great for you and he is no longer needed, so you're better off selling for a small loss rather than keeping him, not using him and selling him for even less in the future.
So I think £18-20m would be a fair price which, in my view, is not expensive for who he is.

I saw a report saying we'll place a £28m offer for Nainggolan, next.

I don't think so, if we do bid 28, we're only 4m off their valuation, so I think we could sign him before June.

Exactly
They're hard-up for another Pastore/Modric/Stones saga to use as a tool to ultimately make fools out of us with

That summer was an aberration rather than a representation of the norm. Last summer is more in step with what the club hierarchy is 99% of the time capable of.

Re: The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Squawka are reporting that we're very close to signing Nainggolan:
http://www.squawka.com/news/chelsea-news-round-up-radja-nainggolan-agreement-imminent-guus-hiddink-could-stay-at-stamford-bridge/668624?Chelsea’s talks with Roma over a move for Radja Nainggolan are at an advanced stage and the midfielder is expected to agree a five-year-contract in a deal worth £31 million. The Belgian has been at the top of Antonio Conte’s wish list since the Italian was announced as the new boss at Stamford Bridge and it seems very likely that the 27-year-old will be his first signing at the Blues. Chelsea want the deal done before the European Championships this summer.

Early, swift and ruthless. I'd love a repeat of '14 in that sense.

Re: The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Exactly.
Then move swifty for Benatia, and that's 2 of our biggest issues sorted before the window even opens.
Then allow Conte to asses the squad, and let him advise for other improvements.

When has that stopped us before

Re: The 2016 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Tom Kalas wants to make his loan to Boro permanent.
http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelseas-tomas-kalas-discusses-future-11346368
It's probably time to, he is now 23 and has seemly gone the way of Bertrand, Romeu, or McEachran, where he is no longer the youngest and most talented we have in his position.
