Too many people debuting at the same time. Can't just swap the roster like that imo.
It's not the amount IMO, it's who they are calling up. Other than Enzo and Cass it's all the wrong choices
Mind you all call ups all down to Vince so that explains that
On the other hand, if Trips stands by his boys and gives them meaningful feuds this could be the beginning of a new era with all that talent.

At the end of the day though Vince makes all the final calls, HHH can stand by them all he wants but if Vince doesn't put them in meaningful positions on the card it won't matter.
Not that it bothers me really, because I don't care about most of this week's call ups tbh.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 25
Doubt Vince even watches NXT. It's probably more like
HHH: Well I'm thinking of calling this guy up next week, what do you think?
Vince: Oh yeh? How good is he? Does he have 'it'?
HHH: Yeh definitely. Just watch this clip of him.
Vince: Wow he looks good, I'll arrange his call up with HR and talent relations immediately. Good work Paul!

Russo podcast with HBK. His podcast show is called 'The Swerve'.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 25
What if Vince always knew that Reigns is not going to get enough positive reaction from the crowd because of his stale gimmick but in spite of that deliberately pushed him as a face?
I've never seen anything like this before in WWE so this has certainly got me interested again. Maybe that has been Reigns' gimmick all along

It's common knowledge that Vince decides who gets called up and when lol. Not a coincidence that the majority of them have da look lol.

Yeh Vince has been through it all. I'd be surprised if he thought Reigns would get over the way he's pushed him. But he pushed him anyway. Russo (the goat WWE writer) say's he tried it with HBK and the Rock too.
After that, it was Shawn Michaels who almost lost his edge by Vince having me force feed the Champion lines that were more sappy then Barry Manilow lyrics. Let it be known, from there, he tried to do the same thing with The Rock. I was in that room the night after Rock joined The Corporation and Vince was coaching Rock to be the milk-toast babyface that HE wanted. Thankfully Rock was too cool and too smart to ever allow that to happen. By being HIMSELF he got himself over to the point of Vince not being able to deny him.

Exactly lol, he's entertaining to watch and gets the crowd involved when he's out there. Don't see what's so shocking about that tbh.

Neville's entertaining to watch too, doesn't mean he should be a main eventer or WHC like people on facebook say.

Yeah me and RG are not saying he should be WHC though, just that it's not surprising because people like him. It's no less funny than Sandow should be a main eventer anyway.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 25
There's different ways of personality tbh, you don't need to speak to have a personality or charisma.
His entrance is not something everyone can pull off and look good, just as an example if Bryan did it would be weird AF.
Charisma and personality has nothing to do with your ability to talk.

It's obvious that not many members of the roster have the balls to say "no, this is dumb, why are we doing this". Punk confirmed as much as well. I won't attribute the bad writing and booking to the roster, but I do think they're partly to blame as well.

Yeah I won't deny that, a lot of them are scared of losing their jobs imo. Very few of them are actually allowed to be themselves and that's why you get a lot of scripted promos.
Think that's what Stone Cold meant by he'd never work in this era because he could never be scripted lol.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 25
Nah he said he wasn't connecting with the crowd, there's a difference between not connecting with the crowd and mic skills.
Lesnar is charismatic as shit but it's because of how he presents himself and certain mannerisms he has. Nakamura was more charismatic than pretty much everyone in the company as soon as he stepped through the curtain without saying a word.
You don't need to be speak to be charismatic or have personality at all, that wasn't and isn't Cesaro's problem he just wasn't connecting with the crowd.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 25
Yeh I'm aware that charisma isn't dependent on persona or mic skills, but guys like Austin or the Rock are charismatic due to their persona and mic skills. For example, Rocky Maivia, The Rock's first character wasn't charismatic.
Daniel Bryan wasn't charismatic when he initially joined the WWE. It's his character development that exposed his charisma to the fans.
Cesaro lacks charisma and the verbal skills, which is what Vince said. Now if he developed a character and/or worked on his mic skills, that could allow him to connect with the crowd and expose his charisma if he has any locked up.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 25
My point is though that he does.
You don't need mic skills to connect with the crowd, Cesaro's problem was that he didn't connect but it wasn't due to his lack of mic skills.
He has charisma and personality and there's plenty of examples of it, not being funny but his entrance takes a level of charisma and personality.
His lack of mic skills wasn't the reason he wasn't connecting with the crowd, there's plenty of guys who lack mic skills who connect very well with the crowd and Daniel Bryan is one of many examples.
Just to use another example, Bray could never talk again and he'd still connect with the crowd. The problem with Cesaro is he he'd just work and not connect with the crowd, he's done a better job of it since he returned though.
He could never cut another promo again in his life and it would be nowhere near the issue Vince has with him.
Yes it was lol, Rock oozed charisma from day 1 just from the way he walked and certain mannerisms he had. That wasn't the reason Rocky Maivia didn't get over with the crowd.

Judgment Day 2008 was really good tbh
JBL vs Cena, Jericho vs HBK, Taker vs Edge, MVP vs Jeff Hardy and HHH vs Orton.
Probably the best non Wrestlemania PPV i have watched in the 2006-08 time span, as the majority of other PPVs had two good feuds going on at most and honestly wasn't very good.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 25
All I'm saying is right now he lacks charisma and if he improved his mic skills/character that in turn could unlock his charisma.
Daniel Bryan didn't have amazing mic skills, but he wasn't always charismatic. It's his character development that allowed the fans to connect with him and unlock his charisma.
Rocky Maivia 'oozing charisma' doesn't mean anything if he isn't over. Rocky Maivia transforming into The Rock and getting over due to that transformation unlocked his charisma.
So basically if Cesaro worked on a new character, there's a chance he could connect with the fans and unlock any charisma he may have.
charisma
a special power that some people have naturally that makes them able to influence other people and attract their attention and admiration
If a superstar isn't 'attracting attention' or 'influencing people', which basically means over in wrestling, then how is he charismatic? There has to be a result for somebody to be charismatic.
