Finally got around to watching prime John Wick
Loved the no nonsense shooting to kill. Must've got enough headshots to unlock red tiger camo for definite.

Saw Battle Royal. 6/10. Prefer Hunger Games even if Suzanne Collins stole the idea from the Japanese film.

That's because Battle Royale was incredibly low budget.

Re: The Movie House - Part 7
Did you see those twists coming?
others pls don't open
others pls don't open
- Spoiler:
Man that area full of Sally's dead bodies. That was a holy shit moment.
And when she went to throw that dead seagull and saw so many of them there. That was something I didn't see coming at all. The way it worked out as a complete circle. The doorbell and why she was tired at the start. Didn't put any of that together.
So the directors said that the film is up to how the viewers want to see it. Popular theories are that
1) she is in purgatory after killing her kid and is being punished for it. Or that her dying wish was to somehow save her son and no matter what decision she makes it still leads to the same ending.
2) She is in an infinite loop. No one knows how it started and no one knows how it will finish. If she is not in a purgatory or anything supernatural then she is stuck in a loop. She tried making different decisions in the ship but it still ends up with one of her versions recreating the loop.
Bit sad really lol

For RG only
- Spoiler:
- I did see the twist coming because sadly a long time ago someone told me the movie was about loops, which was the main reason I decided not to watch it because that was the main surprise.
In terms of the rest of it there are so many questions.
One thing I'm missing is how did the loop start if she keeps going to the harbor getting on the boat and eventually coming back and killing her original self?
-Are you saying the loop started with her killing her son (not shown in the movie), then going to the harbor to join the sailing crew, dying on the boat.
-And then the ship is "purgatory reality" essentially, which is what we see in the movie. We see her journey through the ship and eventually she washes back on shore. She runs to her house and rings the door bell because she knows the original Jess is about to kill her son. Goes to the shed to grab the hammer and right before original Jess can murder her son, she kills her.
-They then drive with the body in the trunk and get in the accident where the kid dies again (in the purgatory reality).
-She then goes back to the harbor to start another loop, in this loop she has the knowledge of being in a loop and what is awaiting them.
In the point of view of the cycle we saw in the movie she was just thrown overboard and survived to get back home. So there must be multiple loop Jess' on the ship because in one cycle she's murdered and then thrown overboard.

- Anyways I watched that and it explains it perfectly. Shit man, the depth of the movie is insane Now that I know the complexity of it, I'd say this is a great fricking movie.

@Freeza. Many can say it to be convoluted. It reminded me of Donnie Darko in many ways.

The man from earth (2007)
Brilliant film. A film that heavily relies on dialogues and monologues would take something special to work and this film had it.
Was so hooked that I watched it all in one sitting. Kept rewatching certain scenes because they were so well done. A thought provoking film with great drama and respectable acting. Really wish there was a book written on this.
Heard it was self-funded which makes it even more impressive.
8.4/10

After the first watch, it seems just like a decent flick but like Donnie Darko if you really read into the complexity of the story you appreciate it a bit more.

Re: The Movie House - Part 7
RG, considering you're in a sci-fi mindbending phase, please watch the following:
Mr Nobody: frakking masterpiece, IMO. The feels I've gotten from this movie I have gotten from very few movies overall. The soundtrack is incredible. The mood switches between humorous to butt-quenching-hold-back-the-tears.
Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind: another soul-sucker. Jim Carrey doing serious stuff is godly. Spend hours just immersed in what the concept would be like in real life.
Cloud Atlas: this is for a patient mood. The movie is very slow tempoed, but the storylines all have their magic. Plus, awesome characters in even more awesome makeup (seriously).
The Fountain: Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz travelling through time. 'Nuff said.
These are all sci-fi in concept, but very human in feel. In which I mean they are not your classic space opera or action pew pew type sci-fi. But they're great in the feels and for the mind. If you like those I can recommend a few more. Or hell, just watch Memento and Source Code. While you watch them, I'll think of a few more.
The Triangle looks very interesting and will be watching it today. Will get ya feedback once I watch it.

The Machinist (2004)
Phenomenal acting by Christian Bale man. I can't imagine anyone else in this role doing as well as he did.
Interesting movie. Felt a bit like an indie film at times which wasn't bad. Although you could tell where the film was going but it keeps your attention till the last minute and some of the turning points were really well engineered.
The final scene was strangely satisfying.

Don't think you'll like The Fountain though. Hated that film. Waste of time.
