Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
"I'm not dependent on winning the Champions League," he said at a news conference in Turin ahead of Bayern's first leg with Juventus in the round of 32 on Wednesday. "Of course I want to win it, but thanks to Bayern I now speak German, my daughter speaks German, I've worked at a fantastic club and learnt a new culture.
"Now I'll move to another country simply for that reason. I will aim to win as many games as possible, but if I don't win I might be incomplete in the eyes of some people. But if you ask how my time at Bayern was then I would say it was only positive."
"We tried in these two years, but in the first semifinal we were beaten by Real Madrid in the first 45 minutes because they were stronger than us, then we were not prepared as a team for the last one," he said. "Maybe we had eight or 10 players out and then it's almost impossible to beat Barcelona.
"People sometimes forget there's not only Juve, Bayern or Barcelona -- there are many good teams with good coaches, all aiming for the same result. Some do it and some don't, but it's how you do it which matters. I'll then leave it up to the fans, club and journalists to say whatever they think."

The Times reporting that Arteta may be the first signing (to coaching staff) by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City
Hopefully he can learn from Pep and then manage us after few years when project Villas Bollas fails at the Emirates

The AVB thing is a joke right? There haven't been rumors of AVB to Arsenal, have there been?
Would love to see Arteta in a coaching role with Pep though.

Peps first Premier League game, today, against a Sunderland coached by Moyes.
Let's rename the thread "Pep Guardiola at Manchester City"
City are coming off one of the highest spending transfer windows in footall history.
Let's see how he puts all those resources to use.

Welp, looks like Joe Hart is getting the Schweinsteiger treatment.
Better find another club asap.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
Did I miss something. Does Joe Hart have to train with the reserves, his stuff put out of the locker room as the club wants to offload him to save wages?
No?
Then don't compare this with what your despicable club is doing to Schweini

The more surprising thing is Kolarov as CB. It's not like Joe Hart has been any good lately

Pep continuing his Bayern approach, 4-1-4-1 with 5 attacking players on the field and just one central midfielder
Fernandinho behind Nolito-Silva-Aguero-De Bruyne-Sterling
ffs what a coach

Commentators are so flabbergasted that the fullbacks are playing centrally rather than wide

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
With Pep they need to adjust to the idea that positions are more or less a suggestion and never fixed. On German TV they made a sport out of trying to guess Pep's formations from the line-ups but where usually wrong

What a load of nonsense. What do you think did our club do to Götze?
Götze was never denied the right to train with the first team. He was treated like any other first team player, and if he had opted to stay, he'd have continued to be treated like a first team player.
It's normal that a coach tells a player about his chances of game time, or lack thereof.
It is NOT normal to demote a player to the reserves just like that in order to get him to leave.
In fact, that would be illegal in many countries.

Telling a player he has no future at the club and that he practically has to F off is just as bad no matter the context.
But your a Bayern fan, your club's whole 'holier than thou' mantra filters right through to the fans.
Also calling United a despicable club is way off the mark when in fact it's Mou's decision solely to ostracize him from the senior squad. Bastian still attends games and post nice things about the club, so that should let you know his beef is with the manager.
But hey, continue to grasp any opportunity to take pot shots at United

But obviously how the manager is allowed to act, or simply acts, is definitely a reflection of the club itself.
What a lame cop out

Regarding the Schweini thing, how can Mou prefer Fellaini to the German ?

Fellaini is a dirty thug who can foul at will and make the match as shitty as possible. Perfect Mourinho player.

Pretty sure it's actually about wages.
They probably decided they'd need to get a high earner off the wage bill if they signed Pogba and Ibrahimovich.
Let's not forget that those two together get as much wages as 4-5 top earners put together, at Bayern, for example.
Which is why this so unprofessional.
They are not willing to honour the contract they gave Schweini only last summer, and use bullying methods, combined with smear campaign leaks, to get him to leave.
