Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
I'm curious to see what he does with City's squad now. Midfielders like Delph and Fernando aren't his sort, and they lack attacking full-backs. Also he changed his style slightly to accommodate Bayern's wingers so I wonder if he'll play with a no. 10 at City.

Our joke of a club will hire Giggs at the end of the season, or keep LVG.
Sliding all the way down to mediocrity.
woohoooo!!! As long as we wrap up another pot noodle or tyre brand, we good. fk what happens on the pitch.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
He's only agreed to join them on the guarantee that he'll have full control at the club.
So basically i think he'll get rid of half the squad.Maybe they could be having an entirely new backline next season and perhaps a new midfield too.

I think he'll change the fullbacks definitely
Center backs i think he'll leave as is, they have been good when Kompany is fit.

Big Show has to become a footballer now just for the look on Firenze face when he's actually the best CB in the league.

Dont know Mole,Kompany aside, the rest defend like absolute clowns so i'm not sure Pep will magically make them look great.
Hate to admit it but City will become an appealing club for top players now.
I can actually see Pogba to City happening. And i'm sure those Sheikhs would do anything to satisfy him.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
Tbh with Guardiola you can just as easily see a back three of Clichy, Kompany and Sagna.
Another interesting thing to consider: what happens with Joe Hart? I'm not entirely sure he can play as a sweeper keeper.

i'm not clued up on their finances as far as FFP (lol) but I can see them spending hugely this summer
agree with S, the draw of Guardiola means they can sign virtually anyone besides Ronaldo and Messi now IMO

Sterling will be lucky to make the bench in League Cup games when Pep's the manager.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
I kinda wanted Pep to join Manchester United , but oh well . Can't say i am surprised since everyone saying it was City all this time . There are some great players at City and the prospect of what he may build there is rather exciting to me . Can't wait to see what he does with De Bruyne in particular .
Pep to City , Chelsea getting a new manager , likely United too , the crazy TV money..PL is going to be crazy next season , let's not even speak about the transfers in the summer . Fun times

I think the opposite. If he can get the best out of Coman,he can surely do it with Sterling.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
Would have prefered Pep at United, but City is still a challenge as they are not the undisputable best team in the PL like Bayern was. Let's see what he can make. Maybe even De Bruyne becomes a crack with him...
I don't think Sterling will suffer under him. He likes players that can dribble and passing usually improves a lot with Pep.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
My Picks -
Out - Toure
In - Creative CM like Thiago/Gundogan (100% without this kind of buy Pep can't work)
Out - Clichy
In - Young, fast, skilled LB
Out - Demichellis
In - Fantastic ball-playing CB capable of playing a high line
In - Fast pacy winger to compete with Sterling & De Bruyne
My predictions - Griezmann, Gundogan, Laporte, R. Rodriguez are in.
2nd season, out - Sagna, Fernando, Nasri
In - Top Attacking RB, CM, RW
Guardiola seemed to like fast pacy wingers who are intelligent enough to play CAM. City has 3 CAM's & 2 Wingers (bit unbalanced) & no creative CM.
City in 1 2017 -
Hart
Walker Kompany Laporte Rodriguez
Veratti Gundogan
Griezman Silva De Bruyne
Aguero
Bench - Bony, Sterling, Navas, Fernandinho, Otamendi, Kolarov/Zabaleta

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
Hmm I can't really see them making that many big signings. I mean max 2 signing around 50 to 100M with FFP. They do need a good rebuild tho especially if they one challenge Barca/Bayern/Madrid/Juve.

I'm pretty sure Pep likes Laporte and Boateng wasn't a ball playing CB either, but he turned into one.
