Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Xhaka, Lukaku, Hummels/Benatia/Martinez and Shaqiri - IN
Walcott, Debuchy, Santi/Wilshere - OUT
Hold on to Gibbs. Make Chambers backup RB.
Job done. Net spend of around 60m.

There is no way you can get those players for net spent of 60m
Also, Hummels is going to Bayern.

So Morata is the super duper uper pooper elite world class striker everyone's been bugging us to bag? He's the 35-goal-a-season wonder we've so badly missed all these years?

I can't say about 35 goals a season but he would definitely knockout Juve for u in CL knockouts.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
if he is available for 80+ Percent of matches [as he has been for juve]he would get a lot more minutes here
from 34 matches he has been in squad in Serie A he has started 16 (overall 1456 mins from 3060 which is less than half!)
his style would fit in well
dont care how much it would cost

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Real Madrid will exercise their buy back on Alvaro Morata and sell him for a fee of around €60m to either Arsenal or PSG. (via AS)
Not only Chelsea, but also Arsenal, Man Utd & PSG are interested in Morata who has already rejected a move to Napoli - via Di Marzio.

Yeah let's not forget how good RvP was once he hit his peak - Morata is definitely not on that level yet.
51m is a lot of money and there's always the risk that Morata, even if he does fairly well at his next club, would fail to make that price tag seem appropriate. But if Arsenal really might get him, we can be encouraged by the fact that (a) Juve fans don't want him to leave, and (b) Real Madrid are willing to buy him back because they have every reason to believe another big club will pony up the cash for him. In other words, people & clubs are willing to invest a lot of money in Morata because they believe he'll keep developing into a major talent. At 23, with plenty of experience now, and great physical presence, he looks like he might do very well in the PL. Football fans the world over have sustained dreams on less.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
£51mil for someone who's not even better than Giroud doesn't make a great deal of sense to me. I'll make no secret of the fact that were this to happen I wouldn't be too impressed.
Blid reckon our bid for Xhaka was just €25mil:
http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/wow-bild-find-out-arsenal-xhaka-offer-is-only-25m
Sad thing is, I wouldn't be at all surprised if this were true.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Morata being a great player and his credentials at the top aren't all that important when what we're looking for is a prolific goalscorer.
I still like Morata a lot. Maybe he does have it in him to get 25+ goals a season but £51m is a ludicrous price to be talking about signing him for.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Xhaka has a €30mil release clause that comes into effect in 2017. Obviously BMG will want a bigger fee than that while they can still get it.
So why Arsenal would go in with an offer lower than that release clause I have no idea. Something isn't adding up somewhere.

Maybe we offered 40m + Giroud and that in total ended up at 20m or something according to quality adjusted accumulation?

*Wilshere will be offered contract extension
*Theo Walcott will also seek talks about his future after losing his place in Arsenal’s starting team and then not being selected in England’s Euro 2016 squad, although he appears likely to be reassured by Wenger who must plan next season in the knowledge Welbeck - will miss most of the campaign
*Chilwell likely to go to Liverpool. Arsenal have switched targets and gone for 18-year-old Tierney from Celtic
*Wenger is also still hoping to quickly complete the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka, although the two clubs remain apart in their valuation

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Only reports I've seen on Chilwell are that LFC have real interest but expect that agreeing a fee will be quite difficult, and have thus already begun following up on the list of alternative options.

West ham is offering up around 30m at players these days.
Any decent striker will cost 50m+
I think I would just do it but that is as far as I would go.

Barcelona listening to offers for 29 year old Arda Turan. They want most of the €34m they paid to sign him a year ago. Arsenal and Man United were interested then but are unlikely to revive interest.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Juventus will attempt to keep Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, but may pass if the deal is too expensive.
The Spaniard has been at the centre of transfer speculations for months, as his former club in the Liga has a right to buy him back for €30m.
According to today's edition of La Gazzetta, Juve's sporting director Beppe Marotta will be flying to Spain right after the Champions League final on May 28, with a view to persuade the Merengues against forcing the purchase.
To succeed in that effort, he will have to match the profit that Real Madrid can make by buying the player for €30m and selling him again at a higher price to a foreign team.
Teams such as Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be willing to offer up to €50m, meaning that Marotta will have to present a check for €20-25m to be taken seriously.
According to the Gazzetta, however, Juve are unwilling to spend more than €10-15m for this operation, and they may end up letting Morata go and looking for alternatives.

Wenger thinking of 50m tbh, 60m is too much for them all.
