Newcastle United vs Liverpool
Dec 6 - Premier League
Kick off: 4:00 PM (GMT)
Referee: Andre Marriner
Match Facts
- Of fixtures to have been played at least 34 times in the Barclays Premier League, Newcastle United’s matches with Liverpool has the highest goals per match on average (3.14 – 132 goals in 42 matches).
- No side have scored more BPL goals against Newcastle than Liverpool (86).
- Daniel Sturridge has netted six goals against the Magpies in the top flight (including four in his last three); more than against any other side.
- Liverpool have covered 6.9 kilometres extra and made 84 sprints more per match under Jurgen Klopp than Brendan Rodgers in the BPL this term.
- Newcastle have won once in their last seven home league matches (D3 L3).
- Steve McClaren met Jurgen Klopp twice in the 2010/11 Bundesliga season, with Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund winning both matches against Wolfsburg, 2-0 at home and 3-0 away.
Liverpool team news:
Emre Can suspended
Newcastle team news:
Tiote could return from injury
Williamson recalled from his loan at Wolves
We're now approaching that point where we all wondered what he'd do when he had Benteke, Sturridge, Firmino, Lallana, Coutiniho, Milner, Henderson all available to him.
I presume he'll do the same as rodgers and change to a diamond instead of playing one of the strikers out wide out of position. Hope to see three points on the board and welcome will be another X-1 win

Re: Newcastle United vs Liverpool
This is one of those games where you have to think an emphatic win is on the cards. I will be disappointed by anything less. They are a team in complete disarray and terrible form/confidence. We're a team going the opposite direction, full of confidence, in great form, and should have our best players available.
That's what I'd like to see. Most likely though Milner will start, and so will one of Sturridge/Benteke. Sturridge looked like his hamstring was tight after last game so may need a rest already.
Clyne - Skrtel - Lovren - Moreno
Henderson - Lucas - Can
Lallana - Firmino - Coutinho

Benteke was rested midweek, so I expect he'll start. Same with Firmino.
Sturridge off the bench.
Hopefully Coutinho is fit to take part.

Re: Newcastle United vs Liverpool
Thought Can is out due to yellows.
Also, Klopp said in the press conference about Can: "The thing with Can is, he's very young, he's 21. He doesn't look it sometimes. Actually sometimes he looks like a 18 year old in parts of the game - it's the truth and he knows it"
He's not going easy on Can, and he's right.

Re: Newcastle United vs Liverpool
Last season's 1-0 loss in this fixture haunts my thoughts when thinking of this game. Hopefully there won't be such a slip up. But playing these relegation-battle teams at their own ground is always a bit nervous, there's always the chance that they'll put up a real fight.

Ok then Milner in for Can and it's perfect. Or if we persist with the diamond......

Let's not rush Coutinho, specially when we do have options. Ginger Xavi and Deadly Dan to come-off the bench. Petty that one of vIBE and Origi have to watch from the bench.

Re: Newcastle United vs Liverpool
After last nights resuklts, this game is a "must win".
We'll be on even points with spurs
We'll only be 3 points behind both manchester clubs
We'll only be 4 points behind Arsenal
We'll only be 5 points behind Liechester
and
We'll be 11 points infront of chelsea

Yeah, yesterday's results were good for us, but they count for little if we fail to capitalize. I'm both nervous and excited... only 7.5 hours to go x)

Re: Newcastle United vs Liverpool
yesterdays results have either added extra pressure or gave us extra motivation to get three points today !
I seruously dont remember us the last time taking advanatge of such a great situation where almost all of our rivals have dropped points

Was just about to say that as well.
Under BR it would of looked like extra presure on us, under klopp it seems it might be extra motivation to win

I was searching on internet for some stats and this one came out. It was equally hilarous for me also.
