Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Nah, Jenkinson pre-injury, as Sri said, was far better than the Debuchy we have on our hands right now. I imagine he's more highly motivated by default. Debuchy hasn't been happy here for a long time.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Debuchy is one of Wenger's worst signings ever. £12mil for a RB who replaced Sagna
Thank Bergkamp for Bellerin stepping up at the right time

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
That's harsh. He did a more than competent job when he first arrived.
I can't think of many players who had two back to back injuries in the same season and hit their stride again.
Wenger has a much worse list of signings. Debuchy isn't worth enough to be there.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
For what we paid for him, he's up there with Jeffers.
He was terrible from beginning to end. When he first arrived he nearly knocked us out from the Champions League against Besiktas with his retarded defending
Then he went on to make more mistakes in the next 8-10 games before getting injured. Yes, it's unfortunate that he got injured but let's not sugarcoat his time here, he was terrible.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
The difference between Debuchy before his serious injuries and Bellerin's emergence was that he had an extra spurt of pace to track back when he inevitably left us exposed down the right with his surprisingly aggressive brand of defending.
So, before the injury, it seemed he would do well if he ironed that out of his game. After the injuries, Bellerin's emergence and his realization that his career was done here, it was evident that he was a lost cause.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Xhaka said this in an interview:
http://news.arseblog.com/2016/09/xhaka-talks-arsenal-switzerland-full-transcript/?utm_campaign=autotwitter&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitter
Arsenal is luxurious…
Arsenal prepares the players in the best way. They pay attention to every detail. Everything from flights, food and service is done to optimise recovery.
Are there things behind the scenes that have surprised you?
Every Monday we’re asked to undertake jump tests, to check the conditions of our muscles. There’s nothing you can hide. Once a week they do urine tests and your body fat percentage is tested regularly. The doctors cover all bases.

Nothing gets missed. Wenger simply chooses to ignore reports when the player tells him 'I feel like roses'

So Mustafi should be fit for Soton, despite injury scare at the international

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Mustafi trained alone most of pre-season and didn't get that much game time. Makes you wonder if he'll be used against Soton and PSG in mid-week or if we'll be cautious.
Iwobi tweeted that he's working hard to be fit for the next game. Shouldn't be long until he's back.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
I'd hope that Wenger takes his time integrating Mustafi. Holding-Koscielny is functional as long as we get the midfield shape right.
So glad to have the PSG tie first up. Good to have that out of the way!

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
News from this morning's presser:
Iwobi is back in full training and is available for selection.
Ramsey isn't fit yet. Don't think we'll see him back until next week.
Late decision to be made on Alexis, who only returned to London yesterday. He might be left out so he's ready for PSG on Tuesday.
Mustafi and Lucas available for selection but Wenger has yet to decide if they'll start or not.
No other injuries or knocks from the international break.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Both Ramsey and Koscielny trained today, though Ramsey was in light training so won't be in the squad tomorrow.
So actually our injury crisis has gotten better.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Giroud not fit for tomorrow. Ramsey not fit and likely to be ruled out of the game against Chelsea as well.
Gabriel could play tomorrow, as could Debuchy.
Potential starting XI for the Forest game:
Ospina; Debuchy, Gabriel, Holding, Gibbs; Elneny, Xhaka; Chamberlain, Reine-Adelaide, Akpom; Lucas

Can't really see that team win but I am hoping we get a replay as these kids/fringe players will get another shot before we get out in the 4th round

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
“We have no new injuries. Olivier Giroud has a test today to see if he could be involved. He had a good training session yesterday.
“Aaron is still struggling with his hamstring, I don’t think he will be available for Basel or Burnley…before the break he won’t be available.
“It’s always difficult to pick my team because everybody is doing well. It’s positive. We have a balanced matured squad and competition in every position.
Going into more detail on Giroud and Ramsey, he added: “He [Giroud] is a little bit [ahead of schedule], we’ll see how he comes out of today’s training session.
“We had a few disappointments [with Ramsey], he was close to joining in again. He’s not far, but we have to be careful
“I’m not really concerned. It’s nothing major, I’m a bit more cautious than I would be. If he was ready to play I’d involve him in the squad.
“He has a small grade one hamstring, but he’s not completely free in his mind to push completely. We stop him every time he has a little pain. He’s in the last, last, last days of his rehab. While he’s not completely comfortable we don’t push him.”
