Aubameyang: Our new CF in January
Another double today....
he has 17 goals in 14 games and top scorer in Bundi... also has 5 goals in 4 games in Europa and cup.
22 goals and 4 assists in 18 games.
The new Madrid striker come January. He hasn't played in CL since Dortmund aren't in it so he's eligible immediately.

Re: Aubameyang: Our new CF in January
I'm not gonna be unfair to him. I haven't watched him play this season, not even once. So I really can't say whether I want him or not.
Here's, however, how we should look at things. Excluding numbers, how good is he technically? How good a dribbler is he? Can he play with his back against defenders? How's his work-rate? etc...
If he's all around good, count me in.

i haven't seen him that much, but i think he's a good dribbler, he's very fast, his technique is ok, better than Bale's, last seasons he was not a great finisher, it seems he has improved in that area, count me in too, don't see any other choice specially in this winter market

Re: Aubameyang: Our new CF in January
Will Benzema be gone by then?
Are Cristiano and Bale still going to have "freedom" up top pretty much eliminating any sort of tactical disciple and resorting to individual plays versus collective team play?

Just LOL if you think BVB will sell him. They didn't let Lewa go when he was on a free. What are you on sports?
How will Auba fit in with Bale, CR, Benzema and Hames? He would do well to stay well clear of Madrid.

Lose the only good one v one player we have for a 30 year old that can't play as a winger or striker.
Hans pls go.

The way to go for Real I meant. And I'm sure Woody can be convinced too.

Yeah they also decided not to sell Sahin, Kagawa and Gotze and wait until their contracts ran out.

Re: Aubameyang: Our new CF in January
More importantly, will he be able to function properly as a ST with our pseudo wingers demanding that role?
If not, will he be able to put CR and Fale in their place? What of dressing room atmosphere when CR inevitably decides that he's not happy?
No point getting a scorer if he's not going to be able to demand what a scorer is entitled to.

They all had buyout clauses. Which Auba doesn't. And he doesn't because of the past experience with Sahin, Götze etc.

Re: Aubameyang: Our new CF in January
Dortmund didn't let Lewa go because Bayern is a hated rival and fans would have rioted... any other team and he would have been sold.
They also don't have CL... in those years, they had qualified for elimination round of CL.
Completely different situations.

Re: Aubameyang: Our new CF in January
That's not the issue here. He can be bought regardless of whether or not he has a buyout clause. As a Real Madrid fan, that's the last thing I would worry about if I knew we were after him.
The issue is that he's 26 and has never had as good a season as the one he's enjoying currently, which brings him closer to the possibility of him being a one-season wonder and further away from being a world beater.
I never base my judgement on numbers, cause they are highly misleading. I need to see him play week in and week out before deciding whether or not he's worthy of wearing the white of Madrid.

The problem would be in replacing him. Not many strikers on the market, especially in January.
Not matter how much Madrid would pay now, they can't sign anyone that is worthy as a replacement.
More likely they will wait until summer if a similar offer comes.

25 goals and 10 assists on 145 shots is very decent... on a team decimated by injuries so he had to take shots from anywhere he could until some of the people got healthy and his efficiency went way up.
Great speed, very good in the air and good finisher. More importantly, he's got an insatiable appetite to score goals all the time.

That's false... PSG wanted him badly but he went to Dortmund because he was outstanding at St Etienne. He went to Dortmund because of Klopp and he wanted to play even if it wasn't CF.
At Dortmund, he played winger on Lewa went to Bayern. Since Lewa left, he became the CF.
- First year: 25 goals and 10 assists
- Second year: 22 goals and 4 assists in 3 months ffs. He's on pace for 60.
What else do you want?

They're not playing for anything. They're not going to catch Bayern and who cares about Europa. Unlike in the past where they were fighting for Bundi and CL, they have nothing keeping them from selling Auba as long as it's a big number.
I bet you Madrid throw in the loan of Jese with an option to buy back if Dortmund want it.

PSG wanted him 'badly' and he went to Dortmund?
Back to the main issue, I'll take your word for it because you obviously watch him regularly. I'll make sure to watch the next Dortmund Game.

Re: Aubameyang: Our new CF in January
Because you had Ibra in front of him... he's not an idiot. There was no chance for him at CF at PSG for a long time. Dortmund, on the other hand, had Lewa who had made it clear he wanted to go... so he only had to be patient for one year.

He plays similar to Eto'o. He's very fast. By far the fastest I've ever seen in football.

Chill, sports. I'm not questioning your logic or judgment. He obviously has talent. I just think if PSG want 'badly' someone playing in France, they will get them. But obviously, as you said, he didn't want to warm up the bench.
I'm very excited to see him play next time.
