They didn't want him to go to Munich they offerred him Madrid several times but he had an agreement with Munich so he wasn't on board, it's not like they choose to lose money, plus there's a new manager now, i think they will sell him if the right offer come their way.

They chose to lose money. It was clear he wanted to go to Munich and it was clear he wasn't going to renew. So they could have sold him to Munich with 1 year remaining on his contract. Instead they let his contract run out, just out of principle.

"If the right offer come their way". Yeah, sure. If someone is going to pay € 100M for Auba he might go.

Except Lewa wasn't sold because there was a quasi riot when they sold Goetze to their biggest rivals in Bayern... PR nightmare. They would have sold Lewa to any other club and they even tried to encourage him to go to Madrid. But he wanted to go to Bayern at all cost.
